Redheaded Rover: November 2009
http://redheadedrover.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html
The random and often rambling musings of a bronzy blond mutt. Wednesday, November 25, 2009. Challenge to a true Thanks-giving. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. Largely, I think, because it is what I so want Christmas to be: a holiday centered on a feast, on gratitude, on family and friends and spending time with one another, undistracted by notions of material obligations. Abraham Lincoln made Thanksgiving an official national holiday. So what am I thankful for this year? In no particular order:.

Redheaded Rover: December 2009
http://redheadedrover.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html
The random and often rambling musings of a bronzy blond mutt. Sunday, December 27, 2009. I’m wondering what future Christmases will be like with the new little one. This time next year, our kid will be just shy of a year old, so we might be chasing his/her little waddling bottom out of the kitchen, while Honey bakes up dozens and dozens of delicious cookies and he and I make chocolate truffles together. This Christmas, my every thought has been on the safety of the little creature growing inside me. ...

Redheaded Rover: July 2009

The random and often rambling musings of a bronzy blond mutt. Thursday, July 23, 2009. This made me happy. The sheer joy in this moment brought me to tears when I watched this this afternoon. It's funny, I can almost hear my mom saying, "that's innapropriate for a church wedding! But really, doesn't God delight in our love and our unions? Doesn't God want us to celebrate it with unbridled passion? And maybe I liked it most of all because it was, as the blog. Thursday, July 16, 2009. When the videographer...

Redheaded Rover: October 2009
http://redheadedrover.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html
The random and often rambling musings of a bronzy blond mutt. Friday, October 30, 2009. Souvenirs from an Era. A few weeks ago I woke 15 minutes ahead of the alarm, and when I tried to go back to sleep, I couldn't. Cheap Trick's "The Flame". 1) Damn, NPR for running that story about the Deering Mansion. In Miami being haunted. I can't shake it. As either Huey, Dewey or Louie used to say: "I don't believe in ghosts, but I sure am scared of them! The story made my restless nights even more restless. By REM...

Phantom of the Opera - Scrambled Porn

Phantom of the Opera - Scrambled Porn. Phantom of the Opera. Jan 21st, 2005 01:16 am. I should first off note that I really cannot stand Andrew Loyyd Webber, nor have I since I saw Les Mis. That said, it is hardly a surprise that I really didn't enjoy the film adaptation of his musical (which he produced and wrote the screenplay for). That said, the first five minutes were quite lovely and well done. 2005-01-21 04:28 pm (UTC). 2005-01-21 06:19 pm (UTC). Ah, you're right! 2005-01-21 09:01 pm (UTC). Had mi...

Garden State - Scrambled Porn
http://scrambledporn.livejournal.com/15792.html
Garden State - Scrambled Porn. Sep 24th, 2004 01:54 pm. And I saw Garden State. Yesterday. Overall, I really enjoyed it. The theme is cliche and the overall plot arc is predictable but that didn't make it any less entertaining; the movie is about the moment and the mood and in that respect it's very successful. The soundtrack is amazing and complements the visuals very effectively. That said, it is not without cricism. 2004-09-24 05:20 pm (UTC). 2004-09-24 06:36 pm (UTC). 2004-09-24 07:25 pm (UTC). He lo...

The Godfather - Scrambled Porn
http://scrambledporn.livejournal.com/16350.html
The Godfather - Scrambled Porn. Nov 25th, 2004 03:02 pm. Heather and I just watched The Godfather. Which I hadn't seen in a while. I'm still trying to get my mind around Michael Corleone's character. I think it's his complexity that makes the films so compelling. Vito Corleone's character, by contrast, is a lot more consistent to a strictly established ideological discipline; in Al Pacino's role, though, there are a lot of competing variables which come into play. What makes him tick? I'll work on it and...
