Monday, July 21, 2008. This is my first (of hopefully many) blog posts highlighting my fundraising, training, and travels to Nepal for a serivce project next March, 2009. It seems a big daunting to raise close to $4k for charity, but I'm especially glad to have a big family :). Please help my fundraising effor by donating here. On a different note…. Just a little info. Saturday started out as any other Saturday would…a few hours at the gym then a quick trip to the Farmer’s Market. I knew that I needed to run some errands as life continues even if it is my birthday weekend! I ended up at the Sehome Haggen…which is really close to the place I get my nails done (don’t laugh! Would I get bored? Today also solidified the fact that I am a professional solo eater. I treated myself to dinner at D’Anna’s. It fun to t...Laquo; I FINISHED!

On a different note…. Just a little info. While I was visiting my family this weekend, there were lots of questions about this triathlon. I kept saying the swim was a quarter mile (400 yards) and my mom kept saying it was a half mile (800 yards). After my swim today, I thought I should probably check to see who was right. On a different note…. Just a little info. I don’t know if anyone else has noticed but the last few Sundays have been crappy weather. The only reason that I pay attention to these things is because my long bike rides are on Sundays. Today was no different. That’s what I like about being on my bike. I get to experience things that I would never notice if I was driving in my car. I go places I would have never thought to go before. It was a pretty great Sunday, even in the rain. On a different note…. Just a little info. It’s been a bit since I’ve written about my training. I’ve had good reason though…I’ve been on vacation. My grandpa turned 85 so the whole family took a trip out to Langdon, North Dakota. This town is about 20 miles south of Canada and pretty much in the middle of nowhere. On a different note…. Just a little info. The triathlon was this past Sunday and I did great! My goal was to finish in 2 1/2 hours and my official time was 2:15:14! Whoo hoo. I was 20 minutes faster in the swim than I thought I would be and 10 minutes faster in the bike than I anticipated. My transitions were slow but I’m ok with that. Also, my run was right where I thought it would be…slow…but I did it! Laquo; Three things not to do…. Date : August 21, 2010. Fantastic job and we loved being there!

Potential Sad Day | the little one

On a different note…. Just a little info. Two days ago I talked about this intense pain in my calves. I did a little research online and found out that I was doing everything I should be doing (ice, stretch, rest) but thing were getting worse. I made an appointment with my doctor today hoping it would be a quick fix and I would be on the trail again soon…no so lucky. It’s one or both of two things…calf strain or stress fracture. I’m voting for option one! I guess there goes my workout for the day.
