It’s something you learn how to live with and how to keep living your life. Below is a poem that a friend gave me in high school. Little did I know then how meaningful this would become. Today it Became Real. March 26, 2015. Today when I got home from work, I was greeted by one of my dogs. My husband was upstairs working. Ryan was in his room talking to a friend. Taylor was in her room face timing a friend from school (apparently they didn’t have enough time to talk at school). My other two dogs were asleep on our bed. We had dinner together every night. You took me to school everyday and carted me around to whatever activity I was involved in. You didn’t miss a play, school activity, or game. I was not spoiled, even though people tried to say I was. You’re there for me. You hugged me when I needed a hug and cried with me at times. You’re there for me.

I want to acknowledge our students who were patient when we needed it most, flexible when we needed to make a change, and willing to keep plugging along on a system that was testing us and them today.
