University of cincinnati, intro to wheel throwing. Had his Intro to Wheel students photograph and stage their work to present during the final critique, rather than the pots themselves. The photographs are amazing. As is the work), and it is exciting to see how each student envisions their pieces being used out in the real world. Look out instagram (#ucceramics). Olivia Gorman - sophomore. Carmen Ostermann - senior. Posted by Katie Parker. University of cincinnati ceramics. Was installed at Neon Heater.

Between Thanksgiving and Christmas break, 11 students and 2 faculty spent three weeks in Jingdezhen China at The Pottery Workshop. We showed up with molds, models, 3-d prints and CNC milled prototypes, and worked until the bitter end. Below, a short slide show of our trip. Blue and White painting with Huang Fei. The studio at the beginning. Poking our head into public kilns around the sculpture factory. Trip to the Big Pot factory. Watching Guy overglaze paint. Senior Leah Suber's studio.

university of cincinnati ceramics : going to Kansas City
http://wemakeceramics.blogspot.com/2015/07/going-to-kansas-city.html
Going to Kansas City. This summer two our students went to Kansas City to work at Red Star. Taylor Carter received a Wolfstein Travel Fellowship to spend two weeks with Rain and help her develop a new body of work, and tour the sites of KC. Megan just finished working with Meredith last week, again developing new projects for NCECA 2016. I can't wait to hear more, and see these connections come back around this March. In the meantime, I did get the inside scoop from Mo Dickens. Posted by Katie Parker.
