Monday, July 23, 2007. Hello YSW readers (that means you mom). I'm in the midst of some big changes these days. I'm setting up life between the US and Japan right now and it's a major undertaking. Those who keep living space on both the East and West Coasts of the United States are generally referred to as "bi-coastal" although I'm not sure what nomenclature would be chosen for my situation. Thanks for your patience and for always supporting what I do here. Keep checking back! Saturday, July 07, 2007.

Wednesday, March 21, 2007. Debut, at last. One final note on this start. Saito took the mound wearing the number 16. Some high profile alumni of the program have worn 16 over the years including former Nippon Ham player Nobuaki Arai. Current Yakult Swallows starter Shugo Fujii. Current Fuji Television announcer Kenichiro Sakurai, and current Yomiuri Giants rookie pitcher Daisuke Ochi. The #4 pick in the 2006 draft. Posted by Mike Plugh @ 9:03 PM. Friday, March 09, 2007. In addition ...

Sunday, July 01, 2007. Nakata Shares the Crown. With his 86th home run against Hatsushiba High School of Osaka, Sho Nakata has tied Hiroyuki Oshima, currently of the Seibu Lions, on the all time home run list. With half a year remaining before he "retires", Nakata should easily eclipse 90 homers, and has set a personal goal at 100. I believe he can do it, even if it seems absurd. Tuesday, September 11, 2007. The Fall campaign is underway in the Tokyo Big 6 League, and Yuki Saito became the first freshman in 80 years to start both the Spring and Fall openers. That's quite a feat for a young man, but we've come to expect these things from Saito, haven't we. Posted by Mike Plugh @ 6:19 AM. Vs USA Full Game Video. Tokyo Big 6 League. Tuesday, November 14, 2006. The Future Meaning of Ichiro. Nowhere will the impact of this wave of big money postings be felt than in Seattle. Seattle, you ask? How likely is it that the stellar right and center fielder will be back for another tour of duty, while the Rangers, Angels, and Athletics are all getting stronger? I think it’s more than a little likely. Who are those big spenders? I have a few ideas. To th...
