Uganda Read This Now?: June 2011

http://www.ugandareadthisnow.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html

Uganda Read This Now? Saturday, June 11, 2011. I know I promised to keep posts short and I assure you future ones will be. We needed to lay the foundation for this first one and as you are all aware that takes a little more time and effort. One of which bares my name, a surreal honor. Although he has moved his non-profit work and family to Kampala, Simon still makes the 185 km (114 miles) trek to the school regularly because he believes in the power of education. Admitted the first 1 and 5 classes with t...

Uganda Read This Now?: The Gremlin

http://www.ugandareadthisnow.blogspot.com/2011/08/gremlin.html

Uganda Read This Now? Sunday, August 28, 2011. Was a 1984 horror comedy film where miniature green monsters tear through a small town. This happens because a bank teller releases these hideous creatures after gaining a new pet as a Christmas present and violating two of three simple rules: No water (violated), no food after midnight (violated), and no bright light. I had made it 5 weeks in Africa sickness free. In fact I felt great! Then that last week hit and I thought my insides were deteriorating....

Uganda Read This Now?: Into Africa: Version 4.0

http://www.ugandareadthisnow.blogspot.com/2012/07/into-africa-version-40.html

Uganda Read This Now? Sunday, July 15, 2012. Into Africa: Version 4.0. Tomorrow evening I board a plane to London and start the journey back to African red dirt! In addition to visiting students at St. Peter's, we will also be touring other parts of eastern Uganda outside of Pallisa District, and Kampala (capital city) briefly. This includes a trip to Kumi where we will spend time with Young Life volunteer leaders. I'm looking forward to seeing more of the beautiful rural parts of the country.

Uganda Read This Now? Friday, July 29, 2011. Set Down the Tools: Day 3. Monday, July 25, 2011. Myth Busters: Africa Edition. Americans can't ride bikes! One can even hitch a ride on a bicycle taxi. Of course, I quickly set out to prove their statement a myth. At first I was given a student's bike that was way. Too big for me. I would have needed a boost to get onto the seat which was up to the middle of my torso! Friday, July 22, 2011. We're here because of the dream". I asked Ishmael (a chemistry and bi...

Less than perfect. Immensely blessed. This is our life. Monday, May 19, 2014. Our blog has been a little {or a lot} silent for a while.
