Peer-supported opportunities – at the heart of our work. Every five minutes someone in the UK has a stroke. One in three who survive stroke will be living with the communication disability aphasia. Each year the number of people in the UK with aphasia grows by about 20,000. Many people with a communication disability will feel isolated and frustrated. Other ways to give. As a charity we rely on volunteers to support our work. We welcome volunteers at our London bases in Southwark and Wandsworth, in Cornwall and Gloucestershire and also supporting our peer leaders with aphasia at our drop-ins and befriending schemes. Volunteers can work directly with people with aphasia and stroke, or behind the scenes in administration. Please complete both forms below to become a Connect volunteer.
