Got into this ultrarunning malarkey at 53 years of age after completing the Royal Parks 50k for charity in October 2013 and swearing I’d never do anything so stupid again. Several more races in and I will be running my first 100 miler this October. And I now spend far too much time on the InterWeb trying to save three quid on a pair of compression socks…. So many miles covered in January! Last week was a toughie but thoroughly enjoyable – well, enjoyable until the wheels utterly fell off Saturday morning!
