Enis acreage is under pressure in the Williamette Valley of Oregon due to a disease that has infested that region. Thus far, through preventative practices, the disease had not reached our beautiful Umpua Valley.

Harvest occurs in September and October of each year after. The nuts drop naturally, and in between often frequent rainfall. The nuts are swept into a pile in the middle. Of each row (called windrows) with a "sweeper". The harvester then picks up the nuts and cleans out sticks. And blanks and a conveyer belt moves them into a bin. Bins of approximately 1200 pounds are. Then moved from the field to a staging area.

On the Banks of the Umpqua River. UmpquaNut Farm rests near the end of Garden Valley Road and encompasses 38 acres of hazelnuts along the Umpqua River in southern Oregon. The farm was originally planted to prunes in 1908. Bill and Elin Miller started buying back this family farm 15 years ago.
