Trying to live simply, honestly, and chemical free! Wednesday, July 31, 2013. I had visions of yummy marinated sun-dried tomatoes in my mind. So I got the thing up, cleaned it out, and got to slicing up my tomatoes. So now I am a little addicted. I keep looking through my house looking for things to dehydrate. I have some more apples going right now, and a banana just to see how that turns out. My apples and tomatoes - lots more tomatoes in the under layers! Next up: apples and bananas cookin' right now.

Trying to live simply, honestly, and chemical free! Monday, May 5, 2014. Smoked Tasso Ham (and Maque Choux). This weekend I smoked. Something. Yup, that's right, I spent all day smoking in my yard. Pork, that is! And possible it is. And I was very successful! I put the meat on to smoke in the morning, ran some errands, and added more charcoal and wood chips when I got home. I smoked the Tasso ham for about 6 hours total. Here is how I did it. There was apparently some stuff on the grate to burn off.
