What an emotional roller coaster the last month has been, lots of excitement about the adventures still to come but inevitably our thoughts had turned to home and we couldn't wait to see family and friends. Saying goodbye was difficult but this is one family we are sure that we will see again and be life long friends with. Time to say goodbye and a realisation of a five year dream. Saturday, May 29, 2010. As of the 28th of July 2010 we are officially Italian residents! On Tuesday we drove into Melbourne to the 'Italian Consulate' expecting our residential visa's to be rejected. To our surprise they obviously weren't. The residential visa allows us to use Italy as our base and have multiple entries to other 'Schengen' countries, effectively allowing us to come and go as we please. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). It's been a real balancing act between continuing our normal day to day lives and suspending our lives in Australia. Thursday, August 26, 2010. The Medieval Wonder of Carcassone. What a wonderful week in the south of France we had. We picked up our rental car from Toulouse and drove 1.5hrs to the city of Carcassone.
