The Unapologetic Diabetic: Invisible Illness Week

http://unapologeticdiabetic.blogspot.com/2011/09/invisible-illness-week.html

Just a girl struggling to remain smiling throughout life with type-1 diabetes. :). Saturday, September 17, 2011. Diabetes, it truly is an invisible illness. I look okay on the outside. You can’t tell that I’m feeling like hell when my blood sugar is too high or low. Truthfully, at least one or the other happens frequently. I try to stay in that “normal” golden range, but it is a seriously small range. 8221; Ah the things he'd say if he were here. Here Pancreas would say to me “Well played Nitwit! You don...

Just a girl struggling to remain smiling throughout life with type-1 diabetes. :). Saturday, August 27, 2011. Sugar and Spice and Everything Nice! Sorry it’s been so long since my last post. My blood sugars have been PMS’ing and unpredictable. The other day I had a headache, a nosebleed, low blood sugar, high blood sugar, absolute and utter exhaustion, and still…it was amazing. It was literally one of the best days of my life. You are probably wondering if I hit my head. How can a day like that. Of going...

The Unapologetic Diabetic: January 2011

http://unapologeticdiabetic.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html

Just a girl struggling to remain smiling throughout life with type-1 diabetes. :). Saturday, January 8, 2011. Saturday morning on my day off and I wake up at 6 am. Hubby has blood draw and chest x-ray today. I want to go and be there for him. It feels a little off, because usually I am the pin-cushion. As a type-1 diabetic, I am no stranger to needles. I take 5-7 shots a day and test my blood sugars up to 8 times a day. My blood draws are generally every 3-4 months. Hubby thinks I’m kidding when I ...

Just a girl struggling to remain smiling throughout life with type-1 diabetes. :). Wednesday, July 27, 2011. Somebody May Need To Slap Me. I’m good at overreacting. I should win an award for it. I get ruffled at stupid things. I don’t hold my tongue when I often should. I need to work on this I know. Yesterday was stressful, I woke to stress, had a day filled with stress at work and came home to…peace, serenity and a hot bubble bath…NOT! Yep, came home to stress. I know, I know. The breeder had a stack o...

My journey through the land of type 1 and convincing people that, yes, I can eat that. Monday, October 22, 2012. Be T1D for a Day. I think this is a nifty little thing, although not even close to my life on a daily basis, but it should help you get a little bit of an understanding of the crap we do on a daily basis. I don't have it. Don't be THAT supplier. Oh wait, you already are. Dumb supplier did send me my cartridges, but also 5 little zippy bags of 10 IV Prep wipes each (wtf? Tuesday, August 14, 2012. My journey through the land of type 1 and convincing people that, yes, I can eat that. Tuesday, August 14, 2012. Of course it can't be that simple. They ask for everything they asked for before and tell us they can't ship us the order, that we need the doctor's office to send something in, they need money from us (wtf? Never had that before), and that they can't ship us test strips. We don't want freaking test strips [switched scrip to local pharm, getting them for $5 a month! August 15, 2012 at 10:24 AM.

My journey through the land of type 1 and convincing people that, yes, I can eat that. Wednesday, August 28, 2013. Dex 7 vs. G4. So I got my G4 finally, and had a couple of 7 sensors left. I decided to conduct science and wear both of them and see if either was more accurate or any general conclusions I could make about the new G4 or the old 7 . G4, says right on it. It's about half an inch tall, I think. Annoying because it seems like it's not snapped in all the way. I would have taken more pictures but...

My journey through the land of type 1 and convincing people that, yes, I can eat that. Thursday, July 25, 2013. I did a dumb thing; writing papers about diabetes. So last night (technically the night before last as it is now the 25th) I was low before bed. I ate some fruit snacks, ate more fruit snacks, then decided to suspend my pump to stave off the low. Breakfast was bad. Bacon, hash brown, grapes, donut. Diet mountain dew and a glass of water. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Michigan, United States.

They’re Alive « Typical Type 1

https://typicaltype1.com/2011/08/08/theyre-alive

Is there anything new to say about living with Type 1 diabetes? Maybe not, but I'll try anyway. By Jacquie Paul Wojcik. After twenty years of living with diabetes, it’s not often that I experience new “firsts” related to the disease. I’ve long since suffered my first pump frazzle, screwed-up infusion set, incapacitating low, head-exploding high. I even had my first glucagon adventure. Just a few months ago. But life with diabetes is always full of surprises, right? This entry was posted in Uncategorized.

Monday, August 13, 2012. What a time to choose to write this piece - on the eve of India’s 65. Sunday, February 12, 2012. Much Ado about Love –Ek Main aur Ekk Tu. We reached at least ten minutes early for the movie, which was a pleasant surprise considering Simmi and my propensity to arrive at the last minute for movies, almost always. For EMAET we could catch the promo trailers that were run before the screening of the movie – Housefull 2. And Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya. If I were to go by the trailers.

The Unapologetic Cook

A cooking blog. Nothing fancy, very few recipes, just a few technical details and keeping essential cooking principles in mind. Thursday, April 3, 2014. Sparks. A restaurant review. I value substance over flash. I cook fancy and eat simple. I sound like an old man, but I do not need to hear a small thesis on how a dish is prepared, which brings me to my next point. I have an idea of how much work was put into a dish, hence my idea of value might be slightly skewed. Some might even call me a cheapskate.
