We woke up this morning to this:. Because of the "cold." I kid you not. When I go to the market tomorrow, I'll bring my camera and try to get sneaky photos of what Dutch people wear when it's -1. Presuming they leave their houses, that is. Judging by what they wear when it's 5, I can only imagine. My little Christmas sweatshop. Just a quick post while I work my way through yet another photo backlog. When we went to Amsterdam with Stefan's parents, he really wanted a Venus fly trap from the flower market. So when Jessi came in September, I picked one up for him. Stefan is in charge of watering and otherwise taking care of Chompy, because mysteriously, I can keep cut flowers alive for weeks, but potted plants immediately commit suicide when I try to care for them. I don't understand it either. What I didn't expect was the noise.

I have to admit, I'm jealous of Stefan's travel grant. His conference travel is almost entirely paid for, which means that he can afford to go to exotic conferences far more than I can.
