The (un)Common Lectionary: Week 2, Second Sunday in Advent, Year A
http://uncommonlectionary.blogspot.com/2010/12/year-week-2-romans-1513.html
A visual response to the readings of the Revised Common Lectionary. Sunday, December 5, 2010. Week 2, Second Sunday in Advent, Year A. Hebrew Bible: Isaiah 11:1-10. Psalm: Psalm 72:1-7, 18-19. New Testament: Matthew 3:1-12. I liked a line in the Epistle reading again, the last one of the reading in Romans, chapter 15 verse 13. "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." Would make a simple, wonderful prayer.

A visual response to the readings of the Revised Common Lectionary. Sunday, December 12, 2010. Week 3, Third Sunday in Advent, Year A. Hebrew Bible: Isaiah 35:1-10. Psalm: Psalm 146:5-10 or Luke 1:47-55. New Testament: Matthew 11:2-11. Found my inspiration in the Epistle again! James 5:7 "Be patient, therefore, beloved, until the coming of the Lord. The farmer waits for the precious crop from the earth, being patient with it until it receives the early and the late rains.". Posted by a n d y.

The (un)Common Lectionary: November 2010
http://uncommonlectionary.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
A visual response to the readings of the Revised Common Lectionary. Sunday, November 28, 2010. Week 1, First Sunday in Advent, Year A. Hebrew Bible: Isaiah 2:1-5. New Testament: Matthew 24:36-44. Wanted too much detail for the little time that I had to create. Tried to create the visual in both oil pastel and ink (the latter is above). I liked the visual in Romans 13. ". Put on the armor of light" and "put on the Lord Jesus Christ". Posted by a n d y. Sunday, November 28, 2010. Links to this post.

Funny Things are Everywhere: January 2008
http://everydayfromheretothere.blogspot.com/2008_01_01_archive.html
Funny Things are Everywhere. A journal of the journey for. Andy, Mary, Sofi and Isaac. Saturday, January 26, 2008. Parenting is a mixed bag. And being a stay-at-home parent even more so. And then we often spend a good portion of our mornings (and maybe even some of the afternoon), in our pajamas, especially right now when the weather is so cold and there is no reason to go outside. These are definitely some of the nicer things about being a stay-at-home parent. Dear Sofi, please know this: if in the end ...

Changing the Views of Education. September 26, 2016. September 25-October 1. Banned Books Week. A week during the year in which we celebrate our freedom to read what we choose to read. A week that most people overlook, or know nothing about, but it is an important week to ponder. I don’t actively search for banned books to read, although many of my favorites have spent time on the most challenged lists. To Kill a Mockingbird. The Handmaid’s Tale. A Wrinkle in Time. How did we come to this point? As I am ...
