I was 1 cm dilated, and very effaced (she didn't give a %age but said my cervix was super short), so the midwife did a little membrane sweep in hopes of helping move things along. Other than lots of cramping this afternoon I haven't noticed any changes yet - supposedly if you are already moving in that direction, it can speed up the onset of labor, but we'll see. My journey from infertility to Motherhood. 4/14/11 - 1st U/S = 1 Gestational sac, and one yolk sac. 4/8/11 - 2nd Beta = 384. 4/5/11 - 1st Beta = 87! 3/27/11 - Transfer date. 3/23/11 - 12 mature, 9 fertilized! Start PIO injections and Medrol. 3/22/11 - 18 eggs retrieved. 3/20/11 - Fourth monitoring appointment. Lining = 7.6mm. Left Ovary = 1 x 16mm, 1 x 14mm, 3 x 13mm, 2 x 12mm, 1 x 11mm and 10 small follicles. Right Ovary = 3 x 15mm, 5 x 13mm, 2 x 12mm, 2 x 11mm, and 10 small follicles. Lining = 7.3mm.

I had a look online to see what peoples interpretations of this song meant to them. I found this one and I thought it was quite relevant to me right now. Of the 5 frozen embryos, only 1 made it through the thaw. The lab claims a 98% thaw rate. Nobody can understand or tell me how this happened. 4 "good" quality 5 and 6 day blasts all arrested. Lots of tears were shed with the realization that our family would not be completed with our remaining embryos. Pretty much in shock even a month later.

First, I forgot to blog about my huge 32 week milestone (or perhaps I was just too lazy to)! The placenta has moved up and the baby was measuring at 4 pounds 5 ounces at 32 weeks (66th percentile). Backtracking to Tuesday July 3rd, my NST did not go well to say the least. The baby's heart arrhythmia sounded terrible.almost every fourth beat. Wednesday July 4th I was confirmed for a last minute c-section the following day at 10:00 am. Clara Elise was born on July 5th at 11:16 am weighing 7lbs 5 oz. She was kicking and screaming and absolutely beautiful!
