Bat Crap Crazy Product Manager: July 2014
http://www.batcrapcrazypm.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
Bat Crap Crazy Product Manager. Thursday, July 31, 2014. Several weeks ago I received a text giving me grief for not posting an article in over 2 months. I started to think about why that was? I’m still a product manager at heart – I always use the 5 why’s). It’s because I hadn’t been learning. All of my prior posts were inspired by something that happened during the week. Becky Blalock’s book Dare. Dares you to learn at every age. One way that I learn is local networking events. There are traditional le...

Bat Crap Crazy Product Manager. Wednesday, November 12, 2014. Intersection of People Leadership and Product Management. It’s been far too long since I’ve written a post! Are getting in the way of my blog and I need to fix that. I’ve switched into a people leadership position and it is a little bit harder to write about specifics. I had drinks with one of my favorite product people, Jason. I’ll probably always be a product manager at heart. As a people leader you are continually getting feedback on how th...

Bat Crap Crazy Product Manager: February 2014
http://www.batcrapcrazypm.com/2014_02_01_archive.html
Bat Crap Crazy Product Manager. Sunday, February 23, 2014. I had a great weekend at South Florida ProductCamp. I led a session: the 7 Lessons of Improv and how it helped me as a product manager. Unexpectedly I was able to utilize some of my improv skills in other ways during the course of the day. One of the lessons from my session is “Don’t Prepare”. Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth – Mike Tyson. It was showing the slides of the person in the next room over. It turns out the slide...

Bat Crap Crazy Product Manager: Customer Conference 2015
http://www.batcrapcrazypm.com/2015/03/customer-conference-2015.html
Bat Crap Crazy Product Manager. Monday, March 30, 2015. I spent last week at our annual customer conference. While tweeting about the conference I received a tweet from a fellow product manager on how it’s a good sign that it’s more party than complaint desk. That tweet inspired me to write this post. Our conference was a good balance of customer feedback, brain candy and fun. With over 1800 users at our conference, it was a great way to get customer feedback. An easy way to fill up my customer queue.

Bat Crap Crazy Product Manager: April 2014
http://www.batcrapcrazypm.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
Bat Crap Crazy Product Manager. Tuesday, April 15, 2014. It’s been awhile since I posted. I decided to sell my current house and move in town. Apparently moving is among the top stressful life experiences and I believe it. It’s turned my life upside down. Last night at improv class (yes I’m still taking classes) – we talked about letting go of control. Some of us (me included) have a tendency to try and control a scene. My inner accountant had to learn to let go otherwise I was going to go crazy (and mak...

Bat Crap Crazy Product Manager: October 2013
http://www.batcrapcrazypm.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
Bat Crap Crazy Product Manager. Friday, October 4, 2013. If you’ve been reading my blog for a while, you know I’ve been taking an Improv class - because I was dropped on my head as a small child. Not really, but you will need to read my initial post. To find out why I signed up. A friend of mine recently sent me the book: Improv Wisdom: Don’t Prepare, Just Show Up. By Patricia Ryan Madson. Recently I’ve accepted a new position within product management at my current company. Sitting there on the sideline...

Bat Crap Crazy Product Manager. Monday, January 27, 2014. Abstraction Kills Volume II. I figured if Kill Bill could have multiple volumes so can my post on abstraction. In my original post. I focused on relating some of the lessons to my work life, but Sinek’s book got into personal and politics as well – I elected not to go there. With the recent reaction to the Grammys Wedding ceremony I thought it was a good opportunity to expand my post. Here is a link. So just some of the reaction to the Grammys.

Bat Crap Crazy Product Manager: Elephants and Toasters

Bat Crap Crazy Product Manager. Sunday, February 1, 2015. I know when a new person is in charge of the volunteers and that they are responsible for those of us that deliver meals. There is always a new change that is intended to make things better. Some times it takes a step back and some times it’s a leap forward. One of my favorite changes was the color-coding of the meals with the meal routes. February 4, 2015 at 7:07 AM. But I did get the point about changes and understanding other viewpoints. Gr...
