Geeky Mama: Cilantro chuntey
http://www.geekymamasf.com/2012/08/cilantro-chuntey.html
I love my family, food, friends, and geeking out at work and play. Wednesday, August 8, 2012. So, tonight we had a few friends over for a Zante's "Best Indian Pizza" feast. Casual, kids, families, fun! I meant to take it easy, and just order the food. But.I just couldn't help myself, and went to pick up some pre-made chutneys at the market and also got the ingredients for my usual raita (to serve with poppadoms). 1 blend into paste/slurry. Olive oil (I get mine from my local farmers market).

Geeky Mama: June 2012
http://www.geekymamasf.com/2012_06_01_archive.html
I love my family, food, friends, and geeking out at work and play. Saturday, June 9, 2012. Basil on a Sunny Day. A rare warm sunny Saturday in Noe Valley, and the Farmer's Market is abloom with basil, and cherries, and oh so many other tasty foods. The sweet-spicy aroma of so much fresh basil in the warm sunshine is enough to make a foodie like me just swoon. So, it's fresh pesto for supper tonight. We already picked up some fresh garlic sausage from Drewes. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Here in San Francisco, the heirloom tomatoes are coming into the farmer's markets all over town. Every year, I'm delighted with varieties I've never seen before. This one has a beautiful green pattern, with a gold-leaf effect. It tasted even better than it looks. Yum! Base for Lentil Soup. Base for Lentil Soup. Originally uploaded by galaxygoo1. Geeky Mama: May 2010

I love my family, food, friends, and geeking out at work and play. Sunday, May 16, 2010. I hate to say it, but Spring is a season of culinary doldrums for me. Mostly, it's my allergies. I just can't smell, and my culinary grey-cells rely very heavily on my sense of smell. Also, there's not a lot of exciting produce available in the spring, here in San Francisco. Yes, asparagus and artichokes are fantastic! But I can't eat them every night. Well, I could, but that could get excessively repetitive.

I love my family, food, friends, and geeking out at work and play. Tuesday, July 17, 2012. Originally uploaded by galaxygoo1. Made frittatas for the first time, and used a cupcake pan so that each one could have it's own filling. Initially, I was trying to think of a way to make a new meal out of left-overs. But, made most of them with onions, Gruyere cheese, and a little bit of ham. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). By Edited by Kristin. Food Blog: geeky mama. View my complete profile.

Geeky Mama: Apple Pie, with Blueberries
http://www.geekymamasf.com/2011/11/apple-pie-with-blueberries.html
I love my family, food, friends, and geeking out at work and play. Thursday, November 24, 2011. Apple Pie, with Blueberries. Originally uploaded by galaxygoo1. This year, I decided to give apple pie another try. To see if I could make it a truly tasty treat. To start with, I went to my local bakery (Noe Valley Bakery) and got some fresh "home made" pie crust. No messing with the dough, trusting my local pro. Before putting the top crust on, we added blueberries! Which turned out to be a delicious addition.

Geeky Mama: Celery Root

I love my family, food, friends, and geeking out at work and play. Thursday, November 24, 2011. Originally uploaded by galaxygoo1. Celery root, while certainly one of the least attractive of vegetables, it very tasty. I tend to use it as any root vegetable. Today, it served as one of several root veggies in my stuffing (which I bake in a pan, rather than stuffed in the turkey). Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). By Edited by Kristin. I love my family, food, friends, and geeking out at work and play. Wednesday, April 14, 2010. Kids won't eat olives? I just heard a chef (on television) say that kids won't eat olives. Really? My kids love them! The key is to give them really good olives. Kalamata, with pits, are always a hit. As they've gotten older, my kids have also developed a love for big green olives.
