Saturday, March 27, 2010. These I Have Loved. Here's a poem from high school. I'm thinking about writing an update or an addendum. Because that last line stands out to me like a challenge - my younger self of ten years ago asking me what has changed about my loves. Here's a challenge for you, gentle reader: what are your loves? If you like, go write a similar poem on your blog! These I have loved:. Cloudless skies, brightly beaming; red rocks. Jutting up out of glittering blue water;. Exhilarating accept...

Wednesday, October 27, 2010. Then Max sat down and got a ponderous look on his young face. "It's funny," he said, "People have a baby and it's either the beginning of their life or the end of their life.". You know, it's either the beginning of their life or the end of their life.". Either I wasn't sure what he was getting at or Max was becoming a philosopher rather early. "Max, I don't understand, what do you mean? Oh, I see, they were pretty old, weren't they? Monday, December 3, 2012. Dublin Encounters: Episode 1. As an American pedestrian in Ireland, I never could remember which way to look for traffic. If I was a passenger in a car, I didn't have any trouble remembering which side of the road I was on and where oncoming traffic would be. But put me on my feet, and it was, "Why is there suddenly a car right where I'm about to walk? Posted by Carrie Nation. A wonderful memory and a lovely bit of writing. December 3, 2012 at 11:50 AM. The Golden Orb: January 2015
http://thegoldenorb.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Thursday, January 29, 2015. Reflections on a Stormy Night. Written about twelve years ago. I waited for the next clap to fade away, and then I sat up, swung my feet to the floor, grabbed my pillow and federdecke, and darted out of my room, stumbling over my shoes on the way. I wasted no time in turning the corner into the hallway leading to my parents’ bedroom. I walked hurriedly, blindly down the hallway and entered the bedroom. Without my mother sitting next to me. I suppose it also helped explain ...

Monday, April 26, 2010. Posted by Carrie Nation. Sunday, April 25, 2010. Sarah and I when we were at BYU used to take weekend trips up to see Alice. My freshman year there was a weekend we went up there and we all did facials one night. Somewhere we have some great pictures of the three of us in facial masks. Who can forget her hiccup-burps? And now let me leave you with one of my favorite episodic memories of Alice. My mom, Sarah, and I took Alice to a double feature. (I even remember that one o...I nee...

The Golden Orb: 3 AM History of Civilization
http://thegoldenorb.blogspot.com/2014/06/3-am-history-of-civilization.html
Thursday, June 19, 2014. 3 AM History of Civilization. I have been going through over a decade of stuff in the last month. Here's a poem I just found from my freshman year of college, and yes, it was written while cramming for a test. Fun times. 3 AM History of Civilization. Was at the Doryphoros. And his mathematical preciseness was -. He had a spear. Now he has a. Door - for us. Are you sure it isn't urban. No it is marble, though. It used to be copper. Pennies. A one-cent spear-bearer?
