The Other Colbert Report: The Threat of Same Sex Marriage
http://alishanicole95.blogspot.com/2012/11/the-threat-of-same-sex-marriage.html
The Other Colbert Report. Monday, November 26, 2012. The Threat of Same Sex Marriage. Until recently, if the definition of a family were to be questioned, one would most likely respond that a family is a man and a woman living together with their children, or something to that effect. However, this definition does not hold much weight in our modern society. Due completely to the rise in same sex marriages, the definition of a family has come to take on many different forms. Though it is a very common arg...

Disaffected by Politics: November 2012
http://carlaaveritt.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html
Sunday, November 11, 2012. Why a Second Term? This election was hard fought for and even harder to win. But I can't say one way or the other if the best candidate won. I live in Texas, yes I did vote for the very first time, and no I won't tell you for who. I know I wasn't surprised by how our state voted. But onto something that I was impressed by. Birth Control or Abortion, Still a Woman's Choice. My mother, and her employee have both gone thru menopause. They have no need for birth control, or hea...

The Other Colbert Report: The Endless Abortion Debate
http://alishanicole95.blogspot.com/2012/10/the-endless-abortion-debate.html
The Other Colbert Report. Wednesday, October 17, 2012. The Endless Abortion Debate. In a blog post on Redstate. Author Breeanne Howe writes about the candidate’s arguments on abortion during the first Vice Presidential debate. More specifically, she notes the common religion of Catholicism that both candidates share, and how their faith affected their views on this particular subject. At the beginning of her post, she mentions that both Joe Biden and Paul Ryan share similar beliefs concerning their faith...

Tuesday, September 11, 2012. Why it Matters To Me. On Tuesday, September 11, 2012, The Houston Chronicle. Published an article regarding our economy and where it might be heading. I am originally from Houston so this paper still remains one that I read on a fairly frequent basis. I never really have been much into politics till the recession hit us. I felt it when my pay took a hit, but thank goodness I didn't lose my job. Both have good and bad points. I like both, but also don't like both. But as I rea...

Disaffected by Politics: Abortion: Still a Womans Right to Choose
http://carlaaveritt.blogspot.com/2012/12/abortion-still-womans-right-to-choose.html
Tuesday, December 4, 2012. Abortion: Still a Womans Right to Choose. The contraversy on Abortion has been around for ever and ever. I have commented on this before, but I am choosing to do my editorial on the post by http:/ contemporaryamerica.blogspot.com. Abortion: A Hot Topic. Possibly. My son is the highlight of my life even 23 years later. But my son is not the product of a serious crime. But then you have to stop and think about the quality of life that the child is going to have when y...This cant...

Disaffected by Politics: Birth Control or Abortion, Still a Woman's Choice.
http://carlaaveritt.blogspot.com/2012/11/birth-control-or-abortion-still-womans.html
Sunday, November 11, 2012. Birth Control or Abortion, Still a Woman's Choice. My mother, and her employee have both gone thru menopause. They have no need for birth control, or heaven forbid an abortion, but because of the new law passed by our wonderful old and new president, they have to have it. My mother has to provide this for her female employee and she has to get it. I couldn't imagine myself, much less my mother having any more children. Why is our president so concerned about this?

The Other Colbert Report: The Issue of Student Debt
http://alishanicole95.blogspot.com/2012/09/the-issue-of-student-debt.html
The Other Colbert Report. Wednesday, September 19, 2012. The Issue of Student Debt. In this article by the NTDaily. Mitt Romney discusses the issue of student debt and his opinion on how things would be dealt with if he is voted President. Although this article does illustrate Romney's thoughts on the subject, it is more beneficial in the fact that it is an incredible eye-opener—it really highlights the harsh reality of paying for higher education. Disaffected by Politics: The Sanctity of Marriage for All
http://carlaaveritt.blogspot.com/2012/12/the-sanctity-of-marriage-for-all.html
Friday, December 14, 2012. The Sanctity of Marriage for All. This post is in response to Kelley Jura-Myrick's blog "Repealing DOMA". I agree completely with her complete blog. This is such a controversial argument in every state. When did the world become such hypocrites in regards to who you can love and not love. Everyone deserves happiness, peace and love in thier life. Why does it have to be just between a man and woman. I have many gay/lesbian friends, and have had them for years. They do not pu...
