Sunday, June 7, 2015. The LORD is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed. Right now my heart is breaking for a very dear friend. A friend who longs to have a house full of babies, who has a big heart for adoption, and who has a loving husband who feels the same way. They are devastated this weekend by news that they have been scammed by a birth mother. An adoption that seemed to be done, with no way of anything going wrong, and their worst fears have come true.

Thursday, October 31, 2013. A friend shared a recipe with me last year for Jambalaya, and since I prefer to keep things as simple as possible.I choose to make this in the crock pot! It's quickly become a family favorite and it's so easy to make! This makes quite a bit, but if we have more than just our family to prepare for, I double the recipe. 1/4 teaspoon red pepper. Tuesday, September 23, 2014. We started back with IEW writing two weeks ago, and I must say that I was really surprised with how much my kids retained! I was so intimidated by this program a few years ago, but now I'm sold! We did not practice writing over the summer (I know, I know.we got busy with summer stuff! We jumped right back into class (remember, my friend Michelle is teaching the kids) and there was no fighting (that happened our first few weeks last year) and they knew exactly what to do.

Thursday, August 29, 2013. On Saturday I will be turning 35. I'm not dealing with this very well. I know, ridiculous isn't it? About 8 years ago Ben was hanging with some guys from our small group when something came up about age. I love salads Especially deep green hardy salads. The kind that might make Popeye want to drop by for a pick-me-up! Kale is one of my favorites but you can use spinach, mixed greens or any combination you prefer. Cup fresh or thawed raspberries.
