At least this one isn't lying - Steve. At least this one isn't lying. Apr 22nd, 2011 06:45 pm. Http:/ www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-1. I oppose the abolition of slavery for three reasons:. The first is that every parliamentary or congressional democracy in the world has long and hard studied the various manners in which labour is managed. Secondly, it would be beneficial to some people I don't like. Slaves, for starters. How many No to AV campaigners does it take to change a light bulb? Disclaimer, in c...

Tour company naming - R..

Tour company naming - R. Feb 5th, 2013 12:47 pm. Along with a friend (whose identity most of you will guess), I am setting up a company to do sell guided tours of Shanghai. The basic user-offering is a dedicated, local English speaking guide for your small group, and a flexible agenda based around your preferences. Were at that early stage of choosing a name, and hence URL. Want a .com, and to include the word shanghai. Early (already taken) contendors were ShanghaiTour(s) and ShanghaiGuide(s). Cos I wan...

http://ar-gemlad.livejournal.com/138149.html
Jan 23rd, 2014. I have started a blog. It will be random, rambly and probably cease after two weeks like every other time I've started a blog. You can read it if you want, or not. I don't promise it will be interesting. Because nobody ever reads the 'About' page:. This is a personal blog where I will talk about anything I feel like. Subjects will likely include knitting, depression, computer games, roleplaying games and occasionally films and TV programmes (don’t worry I won’t post spoilers! Feedly can b...

Book abuse - glittertigger
http://glittertigger.livejournal.com/68323.html
Jul 21st, 2011 at 1:57 PM. I just left a book out in the rain and am feeling guilty, not least because it belongs to. Is there a special region of hell for people who drown books? Thankfully it's a hardback with a water-resistant cover and is still readable. It's a copy of Wireless, a collection of short stories by Charles Stross, which I started reading when. Told me it contained a Wodehouse spoof involving sex robots in space. Which is true. However, he also warned me that the story was. Powered by Liv...

still here - Gothic Heroine
http://why-lydia.livejournal.com/26586.html
Mar 21st, 2012 at 8:18 AM. Oh I am still here, just to let you know. I realise I have been very quiet lately, mainly because I am enthralled in Charles Pallisers The Quincunx, a massive beast of a book that is taking all of my time to get through. Currently on page 700 of 1200, I hope to finish by the end of the month. It does mean, however, that my trawl through the muddier realms of the gothic is suffering. Hopefully in April normal reading will be resumed. 2 comments Leave a comment. I am loving The Q...

Woohoo, Google reader de-borked! Woohoo, Google reader de-borked! Jun 23rd, 2011 11:45 am. If you were using "Better GReader", in particular the "preview" feature, you were probably disappointed that Firefox 4 semi-broke that feature. I certainly was, but not as disappointed as I was when Firefox 5 completely broke it. Since Better GReader was never updated with a fix for 4, it seems unlikely it will be for 5 either. 2011-06-23 12:54 pm (UTC). Still I'll get used to whichever eventually I suppose. Come t...

Statistical discrimination - Steve

Statistical discrimination - Steve. Mar 7th, 2011 05:07 pm. Which of the following is OK? Because women drivers (as a group, on average) demonstrably have fewer accidents than men, charge women less for car insurance. Supposing that people living in Britain but with French nationality could be demonstrated (as a group, on average) to have fewer accidents than those of British nationality, to charge French drivers less for car insurance. Same thing, black drivers. Same thing, those who own a large home[* ].
