Relentless Pursuit | When Mercy Found Me

When Mercy Found Me. My messy life. Grief. Grace. Gospel. My Journey with Grief. February 26, 2013. February 25, 2015. Wasn’t there another way? I’m learning that grief is not black and white. God’s spirit within me might be saying one thing, and my emotions totally the opposite. I’m realizing that it is possible to trust God even in the midst of questions. It is the Gospel, of course, that makes me free to struggle. This was the suffering about which God and I had had many conversations. And then almost...

The Spice Rack: Avery's First Birthday Party
http://hudsonfamily-grenada.blogspot.com/2013/06/averys-first-birthday-party.html
Friday, June 28, 2013. Avery's First Birthday Party. While we were back in Greenville a couple weeks ago for my sister's wedding (post coming soon! We decided to squeeze in a birthday party for Avery. Ryan was only in town for a couple days, and my family from MA was in town, so it seemed like a good time to do it. It made for a busy weekend, but it was so much fun to spend extra time with family and close friends. The photo collage was an idea I found on Pinterest a few months ago. And it is hard to...

The Spice Rack: July 2013
http://hudsonfamily-grenada.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html
Wednesday, July 3, 2013. Today our sweet little baby turns one! Avery is eating a lot more finger foods, including chopped-up versions of our meals. There is not much she has tried that she doesn't like. She loves drinking milk at her meals and sipping on water throughout the day. She knows the signs for "more" and "all done" and uses them quite effectively. We love you so much, Avery, and we thank God for every day that we get to spend with you. Happy first birthday! http://mattandamyslocum.blogspot.com/2014/04/evan-at-6-months.html
Friday, April 25, 2014. Evan At 6 Months. My sweet Evan is now 6 months old. Sometimes I look at him and I'm just so overwhelmed with emotion because he's still here in my arms. I am so thankful the Lord blessed me with another baby to love, cherish, and raise. So thankful. Evan is sleeping quite well right now. He's a bit of an earlier riser than my other two at 6 months but no complaining here! Height- 26.5 inches. Weight- 16 lbs 3.2 oz (30%). Evan can be picky at times, but I am so overwhelmed with Go...

Thursday, April 18, 2013. Easter has come and gone, and I realize this is super late. But, I'm doing my best to balance the house work, take care of the kids, and try to get a little bit of rest when I can. Fun fun! I made the kids a fun little Easter breakfast of Easter looking biscuits on Saturday. They love eating biscuits for breakfast :). My Mom also bought the kids their Easter outfits this year. I think the kids looked adorable :). Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). We love the West, mountains, rodeos, a...

Slocum Family Life: October 2013
http://mattandamyslocum.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
Saturday, October 26, 2013. I am so happy to be home with our little Evan now that he's born :). I really wasn't expecting the birth story to go as it did. In fact, I was not mentally prepared for the birth on Thursday at all. On Thursday morning I woke up around 5 AM. I had this feeling that I should go get checked. I just felt like I better make sure I wasn't dilated to a 7 or something. I went in that morning and I was still a 5. But, I was 90% effaced and low! Here are the stats on our sweet boy.

Y'all come back now! Links to this post. And modified it to our tastes. The bouillon paste really does establish a good base of flavor for the rice.

The Errant Cook: Buttermilk Biscuits
http://errantcook.blogspot.com/2013/09/buttermilk-biscuits.html
The posts may be irregular, the photography may be crap, but the love of good food is always genuine. Sunday, September 1, 2013. I have tried several recipes over the years, and most were good, but there was always something not quite right. Now, though, Hallelujah, I believe that I have found my savior! This recipe comes from a blog called Une Bonne Vie. And you can find the original post here. These biscuits can be frozen unbaked according to the recipe, but I haven't yet tested the ones I froze. Bake ...

Monday, June 3, 2013. We've almost made it to a year! It's hard to believe how many changes have taken place in our lives over this past year. And even more amazing are the changes that Avery has experienced this last month. I feel like I say this every month, but she really seems to have grown up so much in the last few weeks. Avery also started walking this past month! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. Follow me on Pinterest. Cookouts, Babies, and Birthdays. A Peek Into Baby...
