A Foodie's Quest: The Calendar. Mapping out the seasons in food. Elderflowers, and other edible flowers. Baby Root Vegetables: Beet; Carrots; Leeks; Turnips. Cherries, Bing and Rainier. Tea, new season. Wild Salmon: From California all the way up to Alaska, wild Pacific salmons are running up upstream. On the Atlantic Coast, the salmons are coming back at a snail's pace, however, they are still fished in Scotland and Ireland, though who knows for how much longer. At the Height of the Season.
