Unexpected Journey

Friday, June 11, 2010. I recently saw this movie for the first time and just loved it! I enjoy watching these old movies that show families back in the old days. It stars Irene Dunn and a VERY young Ellen Corby (Grandma Walton) in a supporting role. I'm so used to seeing Ellen Corby as Grandma on the Waltons that it was a shock to see her so young! Oh, and it also has Barbara Bel Geddes when she was young. If any of you remember the show, Dallas, she was Mom Ewing. There- - I got that off my chest! Our b...

Unexpected Journey: April 2010

http://unexpectedjourney-lisa.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html

Saturday, April 10, 2010. Prayers for the Pope. Our beloved Holy Father has been maligned and beaten up by the mainstream media and our prayers need to be fortified. I think that the devil is just having a field day in attacking the Church and our Pope. We need to stay strong and have courage against this onslaught and we can do this with prayer. Don't forget that tomorrow is the Feast of Divine Mercy! God's mercy is ready to be poured out! Find out more about the feast HERE. This novena begins tomorrow.

Unexpected Journey: August 2009

Saturday, August 22, 2009. I was updating my blog sidebar and I accidentally deleted my blogroll! No offense to anyone! I will be working to restore it but the kids are calling for lunch! Summertime Activities (with Photos). I was able to upload the latest pictures from my camera (and Kathryn's), so this is some of what we've done this summer:. We did a little baking. Kathryn wanted to make these Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Muffins, and she did a terrific job. They were delicious. Tar Pits in Los Angeles.

Friday, December 25, 2009. CHRISTMAS BLESSINGS TO ONE AND ALL! Wednesday, December 23, 2009. The ornaments were located just in the nick of time! But since we keep our tree up past the new year, we have plenty of time to enjoy them! Tuesday, December 22, 2009. I thought now would be a good time to give an update of what's been going on around our household. The kids are enjoying their Christmas break. They get a whole three weeks off! Kathryn got braces about two weeks ago. Luckily, she didn't have m...

Good Books 2 | Epistles from Echowood

Here's what I'm up to today. . . Posted by Kimberly at Echowood. If I could fully live out the principles in each of these helpful books, I’d be perfect! I’ve tried to break things down into categories, but there’s still some overlap. I’ll be adding to this list on a regular basis, I’m sure. Hope you find it useful. The Catechism of the Catholic Church. By Fr John Trigilio and Fr. Kenneth Brighenti. That’s “Catholicism. Dummies” not “Catholicism. That’s exactly how I felt! Lives of the Popes. By Richard ...

Fall | Epistles from Echowood

Here's what I'm up to today. . . Laquo; Making Up for Lost Time. What I’m Thinking Now. Posted October 6, 2009 by Kimberly at Echowood in Family. Where on earth does the time go? I don’t know about y’all, my friends, but I have been. An exceedingly long pit stop at this awesome blog. This afternoon inspired me to get myself back over here to post something. Of it on television. That says “fall” to me. But nothing stops the apple carts from showing up in the grocery stores, and I love that part of autumn,...

What’s Echowood? | Epistles from Echowood

https://echowood.wordpress.com/welcome-to-echowood

Here's what I'm up to today. . . Posted by Kimberly at Echowood. We moved to Florida in August of 2006. This house was, by far, the best of the twelve we looked at during our one-and-a-half-day, mad-dash, house-hunting excursion. The outside of it, as you can see, does nothing to inspire a person. But the first thing I thought when I stepped out of the car and walked up the driveway was, “Wow! This feels like being at Itasca State Park. But what to name such a place as this? It’s not a cool old far...

Passion and Purpose | Epistles from Echowood

Here's what I'm up to today. . . Laquo; What I’m Thinking Now. Posted July 22, 2010 by Kimberly at Echowood in Thoughts. I wanted to be like them. And I wanted to blog about it. Problem is, I don’t enjoy crafts. I don’t have the patience or energy to homeschool my children. I’m not raising farm animals and couldn’t even if I wanted to—our homeowners’ association has rules about things like that. My attempts at writing about motherhood, faith, and life tended to be long-winded and/or controversial. I ...

What I’m Thinking Now | Epistles from Echowood

https://echowood.wordpress.com/2009/10/08/what-im-thinking-now

Here's what I'm up to today. . . What I’m Thinking Now. Posted October 8, 2009 by Kimberly at Echowood in Writing. I called the police this morning. I’ll have to tell you about that next time (it’s nothing disastrous). This post has to do with writing my novel — where I am, where I’m going. This past weekend, I realized a few things:. 1 I really, really love this story and these characters. I mean, of course I always have — that’s why I’m writing the book! After all this time, it’s finally. 3 When all is...

Here's what I'm up to today. . . Laquo; The Simple Woman’s Daybook. Making Up for Lost Time. Posted September 5, 2009 by Kimberly at Echowood in Faith. Looks like I’m neglecting the old blog again, doesn’t it? Halfway through our time in St. Pete, I began to strongly suspect I was pregnant. So I took a home pregnancy test and was thrilled when it came out positive. A little apprehensive, for various reasons I won’t go into here, but really really happy. A new baby! I’d read in my Natural Family Pla...

Here's what I'm up to today. . . Posted by Kimberly at Echowood. But there are still plenty of wonderful selections to share with you. I’m sure I’ll be adding to (and maybe subtracting from) this list time and again. For now, here, in alphabetical order, are my Recommendations for a Good Read. Please note that not all of these books feature characters who are paragons of Christian virtue. Some may not be suitable for younger readers. Alcott, Louisa May. Her Fountain Creek Chronicles—. This blog is the story of my unexpected journey through the biggest "How did that happen? Of my life. These are my thoughts and ramblings through my journey of infertility. Monday, August 27, 2012. It's a baby . . . July 2nd, 2012. This labor and delivery was much more dramatic than my last (at least from my perspective, since I didn't know I was on the cusp of a csection last time), and a ton more frightening, but it's over and I have my sweet baby napping on me as I type this. Totally worth it all.

As the initial fear for my son’s life subsided, I was consumed by fear of the unknown: How long and to what extent would he be affected? What would his future look like?
