In August 2012 Thomas Beckmann played a concert for Pope Benedikt XVI. at Castel Gandolfo and the Holy Father encouraged him to spread his work all over the world.

Thomas Beckmann, The German Virtuoso. Many were so moved that they cried. After the last encore, the “Elegie”, the culture palace turned into a true inferno. The audience jumped onto their seats and tore the program up to confetti. The sound of his cello touched hearts deeply. United Against the Cold.
