Reflections from my heart: The advice
http://talyaflowers.blogspot.com/2011/08/advice.html
Reflections from my heart. Reflections from my heart. View my complete profile. Tuesday, August 23, 2011. It had been a couple of months before I got to speak to David. His phone was off, his Facebook status had not been updated since then. But on this early morning, I logged onto Facebook and saw that there was a message. My heart about leaped out of my heart. I gave him that advice, and he logged out so quick that I definitely thought that he would never reach out to me again. I felt that he though...

Remembering the '90s: September 2011
http://jarek-rememberingthe90s.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
Celebrating The Greatest Decade In Human History. Sunday, September 11, 2011. I played a surprisingly small amount of videogames in the '90s. My brother and I got an NES one Christmas early in the decade (which led to lots of hitting and kicking, an irrational accusations of cheating in 2-player mode on Super Mario Bros. 3. But we only ever had three games for it. The other two were The Simpsons. I got this game and Gex: Enter The Gecko. With my Nintendo 64. Strangely enough, I never played Mario 64.

Video Game Value: Rent or Buy. Reviewing Games at the Speed of Life. Saturday, April 23, 2011. Dead Space 2 Trailer. You begin waking up in a straight jacket, having to run away from an onslaught of Necromorphs. A few minutes later you find the only remaining survivor, who cuts you out of the jacket only to follow-up by killing himself after apologizing for what they have done to you. The interesting thing about playing this mode is you can either play as a Necromorph or as an Engineer. It takes quit...

Video Game Value: Rent or Buy: Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood
http://videogamevaluerentorbuy.blogspot.com/2011/05/assassins-creed-brotherhood.html
Video Game Value: Rent or Buy. Reviewing Games at the Speed of Life. Monday, May 23, 2011. This is the third installment of the Assassin's Creed series, the first game in this series I've played, but I hear good things. Let's hope for the best. But I am skeptical as to how it all happens. As Desmond, you go through syncronizations that train you to be like Enzio. They take forever! The story mode is very slow developing. Here is a shot from the game that features Enzio scaling a building. This is the fir...

Wait! Why am I back in college?: A Full Body Exam: Sinclair Edition
http://collegeboundagain1.blogspot.com/2011/05/full-body-exam-sinclair-edition.html
Why am I back in college? Reflections on my return to college after graduating over nineteen years ago. Sunday, May 22, 2011. A Full Body Exam: Sinclair Edition. Last week I discussed the demographics of Regis University between the years, 1988-1992. In that blog, I stated Regis' student body resembled the stereotypes represented in the movie, "Breakfast Club.". Being a military wife myself, I am delighted to see so many individuals taking advantage of the GI Bill. I met a student in my 2D design cla...

Remembering the '90s: Captain Planet and The Planeteers
http://jarek-rememberingthe90s.blogspot.com/2011/07/captain-planet-and-planeteers.html
Celebrating The Greatest Decade In Human History. Sunday, July 24, 2011. Captain Planet and The Planeteers. When I was five or six years old, I loved the show Captain Planet and The Planeteers. Captain Planet's mission is "to take pollution down to zero." He is an Earth elemental. It's also similar to the Power Rangers. As you could have a favorite Planeteer. When I was a kid, I would have most wanted the power of fire, so he was my favorite. However, judging from his personality, he was the most...Nowad...

Remembering the '90s: Disney's Aladdin
http://jarek-rememberingthe90s.blogspot.com/2011/08/disneys-aladdin.html
Celebrating The Greatest Decade In Human History. Sunday, August 28, 2011. The first Disney movie I saw that I really loved as a kid was Aladdin. I saw this when I was nine years old. I saw Beauty and The Beast. The year before, but I liked Aladdin. Better - largely due, I'm sure, to the Genie, and also the fact that the love story was a little bit less important in Aladdin. Apu stealing an apple and shaking his fist. Aladdin winds up in the Cave of Wonders after a disguised Jafar (the villain, a powerfu...

Reflections from my heart: Gay at heart
http://talyaflowers.blogspot.com/2011/05/gay-at-heart.html
Reflections from my heart. Reflections from my heart. View my complete profile. Tuesday, May 31, 2011. This post is a continuation from the last post. It wasn’t perfect and out lives went on and we adjusted to the fact that two were missing. But, the world stopped, when in June 2005 my brother David delivered some shocking news that positively slapped the wind out of my parents. That problem, due to their difference in opinions, would be the precursor to the beginning of a tumultuous relationship. Someth...
