Nebulopathy: Procrastinate? Me?
http://nebulopathy.blogspot.com/2015/05/procrastinate-me.html
Sunday, May 3, 2015. How am I supposed to fulfill my destiny as the laziest person on the planet when nobody else in my writing group has submitted anything for this week's meeting? Because of this, I was forced to finish the short story I've been working on ahead of schedule, and that was after a day of mowing the lawn and trimming weeds. (Note of honesty: I only mowed the back lawn because my nearly seventy year old neighbor mowed my front lawn as thanks for borrowing my mower, although I did. My origi...

Nebulopathy: Notes From a Natural Athlete
http://nebulopathy.blogspot.com/2008/10/notes-from-natural-athlete.html
Monday, October 27, 2008. Notes From a Natural Athlete. Funniest quotation of the day before. 8220;Riding a horse is easy.”. Said by Eric, who doesn’t ride, and wasn’t going with us.). When someone invites you to drive halfway to Yosemite to go play polo, the rule is that you have to say yes. More importantly, you also have to bring K-poo Weak Hands along. Does it matter that you haven’t been on a horse in almost 30 years? Or that you weren’t all that great a rider to begin with? Technically she didnR...

Nebulopathy: How Hard Can It Be?
http://nebulopathy.blogspot.com/2015/07/how-hard-can-it-be.html
Wednesday, July 22, 2015. How Hard Can It Be? On a whim I've decided to just jump right in the knitting pool and make this: https:/ kimharrison.files.wordpress.com/2015/06/elsa2.jpg. In case you don't want to click on a random link (I swear I'm not Rick-Rolling you! It's a knitted blue dragon. It's very cute. But Theresa, I hear you say, I didn't know you knew how to knit! Who knit very well. And really, how hard can it be? Anyhow, feel free to start making fun of me now. I'll be busy trying to figur...

Nebulopathy: "... but I wish you brought me a present."
http://nebulopathy.blogspot.com/2010/10/but-i-wish-you-brought-me-present.html
Sunday, October 17, 2010. But I wish you brought me a present.". Once again, it was time for Jeff and me to pretend we have artistic talent and the ability to decorate a cake. Last year we stepped into the ring with the Pancho the Storm Trooper head. This year the birthday boy said we had to make a Kraken (which is a mythical sea monster that looks a lot like a huge octopus/squid, for those unfamiliar with the term). Once again we went with the Rice Krispies treat base covered by marshmallow fondant.

Nebulopathy: I Hear the Approaching Thunder Now...
http://nebulopathy.blogspot.com/2010/08/i-hear-approaching-thunder-now.html
Sunday, August 8, 2010. I Hear the Approaching Thunder Now. I'm feeling a little old this evening. I spent the weekend digging out ivy from around the fence, hand-weeding the front yard, mowing, edging, hoeing the weeds from the side yard, and generally being pretty darn active. So why, when I go to the Hollywood Market, do I still get pointedly asked if I want to buy a Diet Coke with my chocolate? Someday lightening is going to strike that woman. And I will laugh. Theresa B (of Nebulopathy). My original...

Nebulopathy: How To Win Friends And Influence People
http://nebulopathy.blogspot.com/2010/04/how-to-win-friends-and-influence-people.html
Thursday, April 22, 2010. How To Win Friends And Influence People. I worked from home today. It was great. I didn't feel the need to rush home, and I could work on my drinking habit a whole hour earlier in the day. Win-win as far as I'm concerned. The only disturbing part of my day was my quick trip to the Hollywood market, home of the Slushee machine that's had an "Out of order" sign on it for eight years. Granted, today I went and bought a box of Good and Plenty, because. well, why not? Nebulopathy is ...

Nebulopathy: Lessons from the Large Animal Crowd
http://nebulopathy.blogspot.com/2009/04/lessons-from-large-animal-crowd.html
Monday, April 20, 2009. Lessons from the Large Animal Crowd. Although it would be flat-out malpractice if I were to treat a cow, theoretically I am allowed to treat large animals (or at least, I would be if I paid the fee to get my state license). The state doesn't make a distinction between large and small animal vets, and I actually did take most of the equine and food animal medicine classes because. well, why not? 1) Horse owners (it's a tie). 3) Small exotic mammal owners (guinea pig, hamster, etc).

Nebulopathy: June 2015
http://nebulopathy.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Sunday, June 7, 2015. So my home phone stopped working last week, or at least I noticed that it wasn't working last week. After a couple days of ignoring the problem I finally went out to get a new phone because I wasn't sure if my phone had just fallen on the hardwood floor one too many times. So then I came home and plugged the phone in and it still didn't work. The next day, following the phone company website instructions, I waded through the weeds (with foxtails and I failed to clear out even though...

Nebulopathy: All the Systems In One Place
http://nebulopathy.blogspot.com/2015/07/all-systems-in-one-place.html
Sunday, July 5, 2015. All the Systems In One Place. In my family there are a set of traditional Christmas cookies (which probably aren't normally associated with Christmas in other families) that my mom makes every year. And they're mostly awesome, but also a lot of work, so I only get them once a year. Anyhow, here's the original (*) recipe:. 1 cup superfine sugar. 90 grams grated chocolate. 1/2 lb grated almonds. 5 Tbsp powdered sugar. Metric units as well as weights and. Then I had to bake them. Nebulopathy: "Maybe it's another drill."
http://nebulopathy.blogspot.com/2009/10/maybe-its-another-drill.html
Sunday, October 18, 2009. Maybe it's another drill.". Well, the five year old's birthday party was this weekend, and you know what that means. Okay, aside from a short term boost in the economy as the entire output of China is funneled into his living room. No, the important thing here is that the party was the deadline for the storm trooper cake. Now, I know I've had a couple of misfires. Anyhow, Jeff and I whipped up a double batch and began the process. Project. I've done enough of these things to...
