http://mangrovetom.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
I've joined a Strike Force to combat invasive exotic plants in the South Cascades. Previously, I was killing weeds in the Florida Keys. This is my story. Monday, September 9, 2013. So there I was. following game trails on a hot, august afternoon, trying to find my way across Wildhorse Mesa on tribal land to reach a wildfire. As it softens the memory. Mars and Me: 2011-10
http://marsandme.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
The unofficial diary of a Mars rover driver, five years delayed. Opportunity Sol 961 (Spirit Sol 982). Eventually, we end up with a two-pronged strategy. Prong one is to choose a target in the shadowed area, despite the poor range data there. Prong two is to cross our fingers. Wow I see why the science team wants to stay here a while. So much to see! Wed Night’s Very Dark Sky. July 29, 2016. In the following photos notice the details in the shape of the Milky Way and the star clusters, expectantly as the exposure gets longer. Here’s some photos with my Canon XS, but this time on a iOptron camera mount that follows the stars. It’s a fancy clock that matches the rotation of the Earth and keeps the stars on the same place on the camera. Canon XS on iOptron Skytracker; 18mm lens 30 second at f/4. Canon XS on iOptron Skytracker 30 sec at f/2. July 27, 2016.
