March 18, 2010. Mia is my dog. This is Mia:. I looked up her name tonight (remember the ‘what’s in a name? 8217;) and the results are that my pup’s name is Hebrew in origin, a possible shortened form of ‘Maria.’ Mia means ‘who is like God’ – and – also ‘bitterness.’ And this last part is what cracks me up. Buy a shelter-less person something to eat and drink next time you’re in line somewhere. Consider it a random act of kindness. 🙂 Try it. You’ll feel good to do some good. This little guy here lives in Florida. Unfortunately, it is not uncommon for them to get all caught in the fishing nets off of the pier. 😦 But the fisherman usually can catch them and are able to cut them free.
