Saturday, August 28, 2004. The Devil Rides a Raleigh. Road Grand Sport `04-Raleigh America. I didn't intend to get a new bike today, but I was sold on the Raleigh Grand Sport because it has inline brakes along the top of the bars (and the price was right, and Valencia Cyclery was giving 10% of sales to Project Open Hand). Now I haven't seen this kind of thing on many bikes. But I love them! Posted by VeloDiablo at 11:10 PM. Hummer's New Weapon Against Clean Air. Hummer to make cologne. Caltrain offers th...

The Kerry/Edwards Ohio campaign buses will be fueled with Biodiesel (B20, a mix of 20% bio diesel and 80% petroleum diesel). That's 20% less going to the middle east. And it burns cleaner too. Saturday, October 02, 2004. The Bike and Bunny Biathalon. I rode out to the Marin House Rabbit Society today to meet my wife who was volounteering for the Marin House Rabbit Society. I helped out a bit at the HRS, moving cages, cleaning out a storage facility, and playing with the house dog. They're virtually exploding with adorable bunnies right now. Friday, September 24, 2004. Finally a (good) use for freeways. They can house bats. Today we went back to my home town of Davis to attend a presentation on bats in Yolo County. Indigo Wings. Saturday, August 21, 2004. One loophole the SUVs are too big to get through. Apparently some SUVs are too heavy for some streets in San Francisco. Now it's too bad that this law (circa 1970) doesn't make all SUVs illegal on all roads, but I'm pleased that my district supervisor (Bevan Dufty of district 8) is the one calling on DPT to enforce the law. Speaking of Supervisor Dufty, he sent me an email saying that he supported legislation against a proposed freeway entrance on Market Street.

Friday, September 17, 2004. You didn't want a dead bird carcass? If Google is so great, how come it thinks Tofurkey is a misspelling? If you enter it into the Google search box it asks you if you meant "turkey." Uh, no, I did not. Are you sure you don't want meat? It's kind of like when I order a vegetarian sandwich here at work. Curiously, the Blogger spell checker thinks I want Toppers. Whatever those are. Posted by VeloDiablo at 12:50 PM. Thursday, September 16, 2004. Via bikebiz.co.uk:. No, not the c...

Saturday, September 11, 2004. It was a day of riding and reading. I started my day with a beer at Momi Toby's. Halfway through I realized I'd ended the night before with a beer at Papa Toby's. Papa is in the Mission and Momi is in Hayes Valley. I parked my bike near a fellow Caltrain rider (note the yellow tag on the black bike). I'm currently reading Cormac McCarthy's Prime Meridian. Posted by VeloDiablo at 9:52 PM. Is this a park or a parking lot? Posted by VeloDiablo at 9:25 PM. Ostensibly for safety,...
