Under Victoria's Hat: Anatomy of a Stitch: The Single Crochet
http://undervictoriashat.blogspot.com/2012/03/anatomy-of-stitch-single-crochet.html
Mar 24, 2012. Anatomy of a Stitch: The Single Crochet. Several years ago, I made my first lace shawl. Its recipient remarked that she did not know that crochet could be so beautiful. Praise and damnation. 2005 by Donna Hulka. Here, a series of split-sc stitches alternates with a series of chain to produce what could pass for sloppy garter/stockinette. When blocked, this fabric stretches easily from side to side but less so when pulled top to bottom. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Just call me Ruby.

Crocheting Chemist: Very Versatile Vertical Striped Hat
http://crochetingchemist.blogspot.com/2008/02/very-versatile-vertical-striped-hat.html
Thursday, February 28, 2008. Very Versatile Vertical Striped Hat. OK back to the pattern, I made this using the leftover yarn from the spiral felted bag. Hence the Chocolate Raspberry Delight. Then I tested the pattern in toddler size and had to come up with a new name, so Very Versatile Vertical Striped Hat it is, or VVV or (Ver) 3 for short. I love your vertical striped hats! The pink and brown is fab.of course I have a thing for pink and brown together! March 5, 2008 at 2:17 PM. Endress Hauser is reco...

Crocheting Chemist: Updates galor
http://crochetingchemist.blogspot.com/2008/10/updates-galor.html
Wednesday, October 15, 2008. For my daughter's birthday I crocheted a small doll for her, and then my mom helped me make a cake to match the doll. She likes her doll, and loved her cake. One nice thing about frosting a crocheted cake, is that you don't need a steady hand, because you want it to have lots of texture to mimic the stitches. Love the baby outfit and the sweater but that doll and cake are really, really special! November 1, 2008 at 4:27 AM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). A nurse who knits.

Crocheting Chemist: March is National Crochet Month
http://crochetingchemist.blogspot.com/2009/03/march-is-national-crochet-month.html
Monday, March 16, 2009. March is National Crochet Month. In this flat tapestry crochet, I am working in the back loop only on one row and then front loop only on the following row. This is my first tapestry crochet project using three colors at once, and it is going pretty well. I have also been working on and off on some socks using the "Origami Turkish Socks" pattern by Deb Burger in the CLF book. I am working on them simultaneously, doing 6 rows on one then six rows on the other. San Diego, California.

Crocheting Chemist: August 2008

Wednesday, August 13, 2008. Wash cloth for Baby. I know a lot of people that have had or are having babies this year- like over 20. I have been busy making baby gifts for them. Here is a simple pattern for a washcloth or burpcloth for baby. A wash cloth will get a bit more use than a hat, and it is distinctive from the other washcloths, so it can be easily recognized as Baby's cloth. I used mercerized cotton, Butterfly Super 10, about 1/2 of a ball. Gauge: 18 st/ 4" and 17 rows/ 4". San Diego, California.

Crocheting Chemist: April 2010
http://crochetingchemist.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
Wednesday, April 21, 2010. I know this blog has been quiet for quite awhile. I am happy to announce that my new pattern has been published in Interweave Crochet Spring 2010. I am excited that it is finally out and I can share this. I wanted to create visual interest in Tunisian entrelac, so the alternate rows are negative space. I love that it is all done in one continuous piece so that there are only two ends to weave in. Enjoy. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). San Diego, California. View my complete profile.
