We are missing 20 school shoulder rests and 10 small box tuners. PLEASE, turn them in. We will not be upset, we just want the school property returned. These will not be available to borrow next year if this trend continues. Tuesday, May 12:. Wednesday, May 13:. 6th and 8th are playing (last day for instruments). 7th field day, no class. Thursday, May 14:.

Chamber Audition Excerpts 2015-2016. By Mrs. Laux. July 24, 2015. The audition material for the 2015-2016 Dickerson Chamber Orchestra is linked below. Auditions are open to any 6th-8th grade orchestra student and will take place before school on August 6th and 7th. Sign-up times for auditions will be the first two days of school. Auditions will be listened to by expert string teachers outside of Dickerson. The top elements we are looking for are: intonation, correct rhythms/counting, style/bowings.

The Dickerson Orchestra program is comprised of 500 students in six levels of ensemble performance. First year students or students who enter Dickerson with experience are members of this orchestra. Experienced students have the opportunity to work on higher level music and possibly perform with upper level orchestras. The 6th grade orchestra consists of 200 students, split into two classes of 100 each. The 6-2 orchestra does have an advanced group of musicians with prior playing experience.
