Upcycled Education: December 2014
http://www.upcyclededucation.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Brave Lessons: The Wrap-Up. I would have totally forgotten the year of Brave was wrapping up, but then I saw some of my favorite bloggers choosing their new word for 2015 here. Is it here already? Here's what I've learned about Brave and here are my thoughts on next year's word(s):. Brave, you suited me well. I needed you throughout the year in different situations and with different projects (like writing a book). You were an encouraging sidekick to me. Here's to Brave fitness and not giving up! Less th...

Things to Do List UPDATED {Free Printable}. A few weeks ago, I shared a "Things to Do" printable list I liked here. I still like that list, but I needed to tweak it just a touch to meet my current needs. If you'd like to use this updated to-do list (pictured above) or share it with a friend, please find it here. It is ready to print on standard 8.5 x 11 paper. Happy to-doing until you're to-done,. Lessons From a Ski Bum. Job to follow my dream - living the life of a ski bum. Lessons From a Ski Bum. A les...
Upcycled Education: Three Part To-Do List
http://www.upcyclededucation.com/2015/06/three-part-to-do-list.html
Three Part To-Do List. As you know from my last blog post here. Miss O and I are two-week entrepreneurs. Technically, we are down to one week, so make that one-week. Entrepreneurs. To help us create products, launch our shop and reach our goal of becoming small business owners, we used a three part to-do list that was suggested by my new Zappos friend, Jennifer. Jennifer. Is the goals queen! I think every business, school, and college needs her (probably every family, too). This last part of our three pa...
Upcycled Education: Purpose-Based Learning
http://www.upcyclededucation.com/2015/05/purpose-based-learning.html
As you know from my last post, life purpose. Is on my mind. This week, I have a meeting related to life purpose education, so I thought I would dig deeper. In education, we have all types of learning:. Project-Based Learning (or PBL). Experiential Learning (aka: Experiential Education). Where is Purpose-Based Learning. What if learning, college majors, and degree programs where tied to a student's life purpose and core values? What if we followed what Stanford 2025. What impact would learning with purpose.
Upcycled Education: November 2014
http://www.upcyclededucation.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
A year ago, I didn't know my college would grant me a sabbatical to write a book. I didn't know my family would out-run a blizzard from Colorado to Maryland in a 32-hour nonstop drive. Or my word for 2014 would be Brave. I didn't know the summer of 2014 would be one of my favorite summers on record. There are just so many things I couldn't predict. You keep coming back to this blog, reading, engaging, and reaching out every once in a while. I know you are there and for that, I say thanks. Nine months ago...

Boys vs. Girls: The Johnson Family. Said No Coach's Wife Ever. Monday, July 7, 2014. We call Macie our little sassafras. But I wouldn't trade her sassiness for anything in the world! Now anytime you mention getting the car washed she says she won't go. Look how scared she is. Macie has a best friend! If you look closely they are both throwing rocks. I am so happy th...

Boys vs. Girls: The Johnson Family. Said No Coach's Wife Ever. Saturday, October 11, 2014. A Surprise Disneyland Trip! We really weren't planning on going anywhere over Fall Break! We were just going to hang out at home and do some organizing of the house. But three weeks is a long time to sit at home and do nothing. So I asked Matt in the first week of break, "What are we going to do to entertain the kids during break? He responded, "How about we go to Disneyland." What? Once we arrived at the hotel, we...

Boys vs. Girls: The Johnson Family. Said No Coach's Wife Ever. Friday, November 14, 2014. The Greatest Great Grandma. On Thursday, heaven gained a new angel. Matt's grandma and the kids' great grandma passed away. We are truly sad for our loss, but glad that she has found peace in heaven and being able to be with her husband again. Here are some of our favorite pictures with her and some of our greatest memories. These are from our trip to New York when Lucas was 8 months old. I will miss that smile.

It was our first trip to Texas, our first time seeing Aunt Kim's new house, our first trip to NASA, our first trip to the Houston Aquarium and most importantly, our first 16 hour road trip! First day of travel. We survived 16 hours in a car together. Macie enjoyed feeding the ducks by the pond. Lucas enjoyed pitching the bread into the lake.

Boys vs. Girls: The Johnson Family. Said No Coach's Wife Ever. Sunday, September 8, 2013. The month of August was a busy one. Which explains the lack of blogging. So I am going to give you the run down of what we did in August. We partied, football started, we played, and we painted. Oh and we have been busy with preschool! But to get back to our adventures. Lucas attended his first real birthday party that wasn't a family member or Cousin Morgan's! Lucas had a blast! Along with partying, we have been pr...

Life Updated: Summer Edition. Greetings and Happy Summer! Can you tell what I've been up to this summer? This summer has been fantastic. Miss O and I started out the summer spending two weeks at the sleep-away camp I grew up attending in North Carolina. It took Miss O about four days to warm up to camp life (living in a cabin, having counselors, making new friends, and doing a zillion cool activities), but now she is in love with camp! Using Creative Bug's online classes. Are you getting ready for fall?

Wednesday, August 18, 2010. Do you detect a little attitude? Maybe remind you of home every once in a while? This is Chocolate. This is not what I expected. This lamp along with many others are at Judy's Antiques in downtown Kalama, WA. Judy tells me that everyone has got to stop and look at Chocolate; but that no one has the guts to take her home. Personally, I do not like the way this lamp stares at me. I have someone else at home that kinda looks that way at me anyway - lol. Tuesday, August 17, 2010.
