scmountaingirl: A Little More on Attachment
http://scmountaingirl.blogspot.com/2011/03/little-more-on-attachment.html
Wednesday, March 16, 2011. A Little More on Attachment. I feel like I had to cut the previous post short due to time, but at least these coffee shop posts are coming out. Things that have helped with attachment with M:. The "Beyond Consequences" book and reading FB posts from Heather Forbes. Skin to skin contact. Singing. M loves to be sung to. Remembering that it's my job to help M understand that she is safe. Positive reinforcement, over and over again. Picking her up when she asks with arms up. Wonder...

scmountaingirl: What IS it? Part 2
http://scmountaingirl.blogspot.com/2011/04/what-is-it-part-2.html
Monday, April 11, 2011. I'm practically jumping out of my skin! For two hours I tried to stress M out so that she would have a tantrum and show frustration with me. M was in such a good mood I couldn't incite anything but a whine! I think M's program is going to get some new changes because M is beginning to follow multi-step instructions which involve items that she has to search for far away. I'll be spending the day trying not to cry. Wow, that is fantastic news! Man oh man, what news! A Room to Grow.

scmountaingirl: All of 5 minutes
http://scmountaingirl.blogspot.com/2011/04/all-of-5-minutes.html
Monday, April 18, 2011. All of 5 minutes. I've left myself only 5 minutes today to blog, so quickly. M was playing with K's dollhouse with all it's pieces and parts. we are seeing symbolic play! M is beginning to act shy when she is around adults she doesn't see often. Now that's a huge social step. Beautiful pics and fantastic news! I just had to leave a comment and say hi. I just came across your blog from Always Wanted Four and think we live in the same neck of the woods! View my complete profile.

scmountaingirl: Wednesday
http://scmountaingirl.blogspot.com/2011/03/wednesday.html
Wednesday, March 30, 2011. It has finally stopped raining but that still hasn't stopped the power from going out. Our road had two good-sized slides blocking us in and pulling the power lines down both times. Since the last cleanup we have lost power again twice. What if I just need you to love her and take care of her? Can't that be enough? Yeah, I suppose. But it's difficult. And when life is difficult I think we all look for some greater meaning to help us get through it. Anecdotal, of course. I can v...

Wednesday, June 01, 2011. No wonder M is acting up. hmmm. It's tough. we try to meet her needs the best we can. And yet, we can't reinforce the behavior when it occurring because that would just strengthen it. Not the usual parenting. At. All. It is so awesome to read this post. Yes, its hard work, but youre seeing the results. So very awesome. Im drafting a blog about food issues with post-institutionalized kids, btw. Great minds think alike! Tales from the Road: May 2008

Tales from the Road. Sunday, May 25, 2008. Key West or Bust, Day 15. Sunday May 25, 2008. 8220;I’ve chosen every route and every mile so far on this trip,” I tell Kitty. “Today it’s up to you.” We discuss the options and she chooses to ride Skyline Drive to the US 211 cutoff at Panorama and then take 211 and 29 home, which, in a twist of fate, is exactly the route I’ve already pre-loaded into the GPS. 8220;Good job on the horn! 8221; the park ranger says as we pay the $10.00 motorcycle fee. Unlike the Bl...
