My Foot In My Mouth: Summer is hard to...lego. (Get it? Lego. Let go. Is this thing on?)

Friday, August 7, 2015. Summer is hard to.lego. (Get it? Lego Let go. Is this thing on? 5 more days of freedom, then we're back to the grind of waking up early, soccer practice, homework. ugh. I can't even bare to think of it. This is the only summer in recent history where I wasn't 100% ready for the kids to go back to school. We've had so much fun, and have really enjoyed just relaxing around the house and playing with friends. Take the paddle and I'll pull you onto the pier." So I grabbed the padd...

My Foot In My Mouth: November 2014
http://myfootinmymouth.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Monday, November 10, 2014. A series of fortunate events. But somehow, and I still don't fully understand it, today was not the piece of absolute dog crap that I predicted it would be. It was actually the opposite. Saturday, November 1, 2014. Taylor was a Zombie Prom Queen this year, because she declared at the costume store she didn't want anything cute but wanted something gothic. Gothic? I had no idea she even knew what that meant. But her costume was adorable and she had fun with it. I took a ...Corin...

My Foot In My Mouth: September 2014
http://myfootinmymouth.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Sunday, September 21, 2014. The reluctant soccer mom. Taylor is her team's super defender and goal keeper. It baffles me how she could go from being so timid in basketball to so aggressive in soccer. She flops down on the grass to grab the soccer ball in the goal box (Is that what it's called? She is weird and wonderful, that one. Robby has been spending more time at my house, and I love this little guy to pieces. Coolest present from Becky. It was National Dog Day. He's smiling. Happy birthday to Fran!

My Foot In My Mouth: June 2015
http://myfootinmymouth.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Sunday, June 14, 2015. Summer is finally here! We also spent a day last week working at the dog shelter in our mall. We worked for three hours walking dogs, playing with the pups, and cleaning up pee pads. The kids loved every second of it. I'm glad it's giving us a chance to volunteer and do service, and spend time together too. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. My Foot In My Mouth: April 2015
http://myfootinmymouth.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Monday, April 27, 2015. 5 things I've learned going back to work. It felt like a really long, never-ending winter. And the average winter temp around here was 82 degrees, so that tells you a little something about my frame of mind lately. But it's Spring, and that means the end of the school year's approaching. 27 more school days left, but who's counting? I’m a hypocrite:. Today’s little gem was a girl screaming, “Maria, you stupid bi* *, you’re Fuc* * crazy! 8221; I lectured her the whole way up to the...

My Foot In My Mouth: January 2014
http://myfootinmymouth.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html
Tuesday, January 14, 2014. Mamasita. Donde esta, Santa Claus? My kids asked for a lot of crap this Christmas. My 4 year old wanted an iphone, and my 7 year old wanted anything that had a flashlight built into it: pillowlites, dreamlites, flashlightlites, toasterlight. But I said no. I put on my big girl mommy panties and said no. Why? Because they were all bad ideas. When I was 10, I had a bad idea. I wanted this-. Unrelated catch up pictures below:. Taylor officially changed schools. Her last day at...

My Foot In My Mouth: February 2015
http://myfootinmymouth.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Friday, February 27, 2015. The cost of a sick day. Sick days aren't normally as fun as they're cracked up to be. It involves contacting my school, the kid's school, finding a sub, dealing with the assholery of the Dr. who two days prior told us my daughter DIDN'T have an ear infection, and driving to the drug store to sheepishly say, "Yes. We're here again to pick up more antibiotics, because I'm a terrible mother and can't keep my kid healthy.". It's a long day. Again, it's my fault. A pink jean jacket.

My Foot In My Mouth: October 2014
http://myfootinmymouth.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Saturday, October 25, 2014. I was messing around with my lighting and backdrop in the garage the other day, and Taylor and Corinne volunteered to be my models. I love these pictures of Tay. Taylor had the best party ever this year at VT Ranch. They all did a giant rope swing (which scared the crap out of me), and archery. A birthday party that included harnesses and helmets. The more the kids pulled, the higher their friends went. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. A look at Hook.

My Foot In My Mouth: March 2015
http://myfootinmymouth.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Thursday, March 19, 2015. Magicians aren't always magical. Our school PTA is relentless in their fundraising. I applaud them. I have no desire to join them in their constant plea for money, but I do purchase whatever they sell and attend whatever event they put on. So off we went to the mother/daughter slumber party where we proudly wore our new pajamas (because you can't show up in what you really wear to bed and sport an old raggedy shirt and panties). The magician pointed to Corinne who sprinted up to...
