Uniqart: January 2015
http://uniqart.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Monday, 26 January 2015. I've also sewn a backing to a large piece of patchwork made by my mother - I am sure some of these fabrics are from summer dresses she made for me as a child. I hated them at the time, but now it is a lovely reminder of days gone by and I am in awe of the patience my mum must have had to make this. My sister has the double bed version! Still to be sewn are some cushion covers, then the room can be officially declared finsihed! Friday, 23 January 2015. We're on Radio 4! I have NEV...

Uniqart: Back On Form...
http://uniqart.blogspot.com/2015/05/back-on-form.html
Friday, 22 May 2015. After the cow parsley debacle, I was wondering what to paint and had a search through a file on my computer labelled 'photos for future paintings' and found this one that I had forgotten about. It's the view from my partner's apartment window when he was working in Belgium one snowy morning. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Where to buy my book. Uniqart: Progress Report
http://uniqart.blogspot.com/2015/08/progress-report.html
Wednesday, 12 August 2015. I'm a bit taken aback at how well this one is coming along - I've not spent that much time on it to be honest, probably no more than 4 hours in total. Sometimes a painting just flows, other times it's really hard work. This is in watercolour and I'm trying not to get fixated on the detail too much. I also received a bright orange Graphik Line Painter pen by Derwent in the post yesterday and am wondering if it could be used in the final stages for grass stems. Day of the Dead.

Uniqart: May 2015
http://uniqart.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Monday, 25 May 2015. I was asked to make a cotton waistcoat for someone, and found it surprisingly hard to find a decent pattern similar to what she wanted. This was what I discovered on Knitty.com so went ahead. It wasn't long after starting that I realised just what the word 'piquant' at the top of the pattern meant! Boy, this was complicated! Not difficult, just very complicated and involved a lot of scribbling on paper to keep track of the shaping increases and decreases. Friday, 22 May 2015. After t...

Uniqart: Clearing That Blockage!
http://uniqart.blogspot.com/2015/08/clearing-that-blockage.html
Saturday, 1 August 2015. However, you can have too much of a good thing and I moved on, but it's always nice to go back to the same subject once in a while. I'm planning on this being quite splashy and loose around the edges, with the detail in the centre only - that's the theory at least! Uniqart: Tiger! All Done...
http://uniqart.blogspot.com/2015/08/tiger-all-done.html
Monday, 3 August 2015. Sometimes a painting just whizzes by with no serious problems and this was one of them. Perhaps because it is a familiar subject or perhaps because I have missed painting so much the past few weeks, who knows! Watercolour with a bit of acrylic ink for the whiskers - up for sale in my Etsy shop shortly. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Where to buy my book. Uniqart: A Leopard & The Best Named Yarn Ever...
http://uniqart.blogspot.com/2015/08/a-leopard-best-named-yarn-ever.html
Monday, 10 August 2015. A Leopard and The Best Named Yarn Ever. I bought this yarn at Unravel in February this year, firstly because of the deep vibrant colours (which don't really show in the photo) and then I was completely won over when I found out it was called Toxic Bog! There's a bit of sewing going on - more later. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Where to buy my book. Hardworking mum/artist/knitter/dog owner, scraping a living doing what I love! Uniqart: August 2015
http://uniqart.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
Sunday, 30 August 2015. A Moorhen and A Lesson Learned. How long would it take to write just one line and say you have changed your mind, sorry. I would have understood and as for having started the bird, that was entirely my decision. So, another lesson learned - never begin a project without an absolutely positive confirmation! After a quiet summer, I now have three dog portraits to do - can't wait! Monday, 24 August 2015. If You Go Down To The Woods Today. However, the next day he relaxed, although ne...

Uniqart: April 2015
http://uniqart.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 29 April 2015. Not sure if I picked this painting because of how I was feeling at the time or not! A while back I had to buy a job lot of hair clips when all I needed was a couple. I have been wondering what on earth I was going to do with them, but the other day had a bit of an epiphany. While making some scenery for a new animation, I needed something to keep the edges of the fabric touching the card while the glue dried - ta-dah, hair clips! Labels: Derwent Inktense pencils. This week sees ...
