Japan's Bridge to the Past. Family Trip in 2014! On December 28th and 29th, I went to Mie Prefecture with my parents. In my family, we go to family trip at the end of each year. So this article is not about Kyoto, but since I took many pictures during the trip, I share them with you. On December 28th, we left home at 7 am and drove to the first destination. Japan's Bridge to the Past. I went to Kitano Tenman-gu to see a flea market which is held on the 25. Day of every month. Although they have this market every month, the one in December is the biggest in the year. Despite the cold weather, there were a lot of visitors shopping at stalls around the shrine. Japanese hot pot with assorted ingredients like daikon, tofu, or fish cake. Many kinds of masks were displayed at a stall. These colorful things are. We could play some games like this too! Part 1 →.

Japan's Bridge to the Past. After that, I walked around the garden next to the hall. Then, I found a small water place. Interestingly, this spring is called the spring of night-time crying. It was found by a monk who dreamed of the spring. This name comes from the sound of the spring at night which is similar to crying. Although this temple is not designated as one of the World Heritage sites in Kyoto (I personally think that they should have chosen this temple too! Special Illumination in Arashiyama.
