MileMusings: Playing in the Mud
http://milemusings.blogspot.com/2009/07/playing-in-mud.html
Wednesday, July 22, 2009. Playing in the Mud. Once again, it was raining this Tuesday night. But I'm actually not complaining. This summer has been incredibly mild and if I have to deal with a few Tuesday night runs in the rain because of it, I'm okay with that. Besides, this run turned out to be pretty fun (okay, maybe not the actual run, but definitely the rain part). For once, the advanced group got to run on the bridal path. Hurrah! Or "Are we going fast? It happens every Tuesday. I guess I can't...

MileMusings: Crickets
http://milemusings.blogspot.com/2013/10/crickets.html
Tuesday, October 15, 2013. I hear them when I run.literally and figuratively. I don't remember running being this different between Cincinnati and New York when I moved last time, but I think maybe I just got completely caught up in the New York running scene (which is CRAZY huge.and there are multiple races every weekend.which are NOT just 5ks). They are both approximately the same size (Central Park is a 6 mile loop, Lunken is a 5 mile loop). Then I was like "Wait! Where ARE all the people? So, I think...

MileMusings: Trail Run Essentials
http://milemusings.blogspot.com/2013/12/trail-run-essentials.html
Monday, December 30, 2013. Okay, so after my fifth trail run and my second trail race I feel like I finally have my packing list down. Here are the things that I have found to be essential:. Duh I'm so glad that I run in these. I can't imagine running in non-trail shoes. I think I would have wiped out a million times. I have yet to experience a trail run where the course does not go through running water. This week it was an honest to goodness river.like 10-15 feet across and NO ROCKS to jump on! For you...

MileMusings: Hibernation
http://milemusings.blogspot.com/2013/10/hibernation.html
Tuesday, October 29, 2013. I NEVER drank soda before I moved back. Argh! And that's just the food part. I'm also not working out. After the half marathon 2 weeks ago (2 weeks ago? I told myself it was time to get serious about working out again. And then I got sick. And for two weeks now I've been so tired by the end of the day that working out is not an option. I also feel like I could sleep for about two more hours than I have in the morning. On another note, I am obsessed with Born to Run. It makes me...

MileMusings: Intro To Trails
http://milemusings.blogspot.com/2013/11/intro-to-trails.html
Sunday, November 17, 2013. After a good night's sleep though, I actually felt pretty good. I'm glad too, because trail running is HARD. Like REALLY HARD. It was actually kind of cool how it was set up. Fleet Feet had representatives from Pearl Izumi and Brooks there so that you could try out some trail shoes. I chose the Pure Grit. The coaches gave us a few rules about trail running before we set off:. 4 It had been raining, so remember, it will be slippery. But then I noticed. Where people run up walls ...

MileMusings
http://milemusings.blogspot.com/2013/10/re-entry-syndrome-yes-that-is-possibly.html
Monday, October 7, 2013. Yes, that is possibly an overly melodramatic title, but as I was talking to my co-worker Andy last week I realized that it might somewhat be true (he was the one who suggested that this is what I was experiencing). It's been awhile since I've blogged, but let's face it, my New York self had little time to run and much less time to write. I did get one last, wonderful 16 miler in, over the Brooklyn Bridge for Summer Streets. HE DOESN'T NEED YOUR HELP! Welcome back to Cincinnati!

MileMusings: October 2011
http://milemusings.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
Wednesday, October 12, 2011. Ok, I am lame. The last time I posted was before my vacation. I don't even have an excuse because I have had plenty of time to blog (and run) but I just have been spending that time doing other fun things (like playing around with the floorplan of my apartment, making fun cupcakes, knitting, etc etc etc). I guess running was just one of the main things in my life prior to now, and now, while it is still a big part of my life, I tend to have a million other things going on too.
