Classe 1981 di Lugano. La passione per la fotografia è stata presente fin da piccolo, probabilmente grazie al padre. Il suo interesse è pian piano cresciuto grazie anche all’aiuto di esperienze come la partecipazione al FotoClub di Lugano. Di cui è stato vicepresidente nel 2005. Fino ad ora ha partecipato unicamente alla mostra collettiva Emozioni organizzata da insARTes, quindi questa è la sua prima personale. È presente in internet con il sito www.shinecapture.com. La mostra Urban Dark raggruppa una trentina di fotografie scattate da Marco Cortesi. Tra il 2005 ed il 2006, principalmente in luoghi abbandonati: ex sanatori, ex stabili industriali e così via. Però non significa solamente “luogo abbandonato”, è un concetto molto più esteso e complicato, che vuole rappresentare una realtà parallela, il lato più. Secondo Wikipedia- è legata all’inquietudine, talvolta al pessimismo e al dolore, al Romanticismo. All’eleganza, eccetera. Come tributo a Romeo e Giulietta.
