green from blue: The List
http://greenfromblue.blogspot.com/2008/12/list.html
Monday, December 29, 2008. My 7-year-old daughter, Olivia, came out of Sunday School yesterday excited about her "list". When I asked what she was talking about, she told me she wrote down 11 things she needs to do. I assumed she was talking about all the things she needed to do to prepare for our upcoming vacation. Apparently, her class talked about New Year's resolutions. Here's what Olivia put on her list:. I especially chuckled at how #3 came before #8. :). Labels: new years resolutions.

green from blue: Time to Change...
http://greenfromblue.blogspot.com/2008/08/time-to-change.html
Saturday, August 16, 2008. Okay, I did it. I've been talking about it for over a year now and I finally did it! This morning, Liz and I met at church at 8:30am with scales in hand. The two of us marched into the conference room and started a fitness/wellness accountability group. Yeah, just the two of us. But it was awesome! Last night (for no real reason), my mom just gave me her brand new BMI scale. She said she never uses it. Little did she know I've been thinking of buying one for the group! The shor...

green from blue: What I Learned In Church Today...
http://greenfromblue.blogspot.com/2009/07/what-i-learned-in-church-today.html
Sunday, July 19, 2009. What I Learned In Church Today. On the way home from church this morning, my daughter asked us all what we learned in Sunday School. First she asked my son, who replied, "I don't know. Nothing? He's five. and a guy, so I cut him some slack.) I chuckled and told her not to be too upset, if she asked her dad the same question he would probably say, "Stuff." (I was right.). All of a sudden I raised my hand and said, "Ooo! 1 God speaks in to us. 2 Today I heard Him! Silly middle-aged m...

green from blue: Move me...
http://greenfromblue.blogspot.com/2008/12/move-me.html
Wednesday, December 31, 2008. I've never been one to embrace change, but I must say I always look forward to ringing in the New Year. I love the thought of getting a clean slate and the chance to begin again. Thankfully the do-overs aren't always from ground zero, although sometimes it is best to level it and start from scratch. Changes in our finances led to the decision to home school the kids this fall. That has been a challenging, yet rewarding experience! Looking ahead to 2009, I see a handful of th...

Can’t write my way free. February 28, 2008 – 9:12 am. February 28, 2008 – 5:13 am. Is anyone else up to the 12 minute challenge? I feel like it’s changing my life. Could it change yours? Where is the place where you don’t share yourself? Do you hide your creative side? Do you lock up your thoughts and emotions? Do you give your wife 50%? Do you lock God in a box for when you need him? What could you change in 12 minutes a day…? It’s like butta. February 28, 2008 – 5:10 am. And why wouldn’t she? She puts ...

The Philosophy of So [what]? In the Beginning. | 12minutes

The Philosophy of So [what]? March 1, 2008 – 7:28 pm. Though it may seem like an exercise in tedium, it is important that from the very onset something be said about the significance or insignificance of small words and conjunctions. This is fundamental because in the very word So. We have both a small word and a conjunction. Those facts, those pieces of identity, those properties, those characteristics that are the very foundations of So? There are few words shorter than So. I can think of only I. Argua...

Today I will start to pray. | 12minutes
https://12minutes.wordpress.com/2008/03/18/today-i-will-start-to-pray
Today I will start to pray. March 18, 2008 – 3:25 pm. I say start, because I really don’t. I won’t give you some cheesy BS line about my life being a prayer…I don’t pray. I rarely see the difference it makes, I feel more like I’m talking to myself than I’m talking to God. I will take a 12 minute daily journey of prayer for the next 30 days…That’s six hours. That’s more than i’ve prayed total in the last well…years…. This should be interesting. Jesus modeled prayer right? Laquo; i want…. Means to an end.

Not that I’ve conquered…. March 11, 2008 – 6:36 pm. 12 minutes, but I think I need a new 12 minute focus. The conversation is much more free-flowing in the Scheller house. Sarah and I, while we still have our ups and downs, our high talk days and our low talk days, are communicating with greater frequency and much more naturally. Laquo; means to an end. Posted March 14, 2008 at 8:35 pm. 12 min of prayer. Continue 12 min with wife. Posted March 14, 2008 at 8:36 pm. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.
