Sunday, May 31, 2015. I was so glad we made a return trip to Governors Island this year. It is such a beautiful, relaxing spot with such great views. I started sketching on the ferry.and this model didn't seem to mind. I sat in the shade to sketch the skyline across the water. This house was a particular favorite among our group. I think we all sketched it. Of course Mark sat down and sketched them. The other side of the island has great views of the bridges. Labels: Battery Maritime Building. Alongside ...

Saturday, January 31, 2015. NYC Urban Sketcher Visits Venice Beach! This NYC Urban Sketcher escaped the cold to Venice Beach and posting new sketches for your enjoyment. For those who've never been here, Venice is an offbeat backwater of greater Los Angeles filled with old folks, homeless people, tatood types, muscle men, and yuppies. For years, this has been my home-away-from-home. Whenever I'm in Venice I visit the Israel Levin Senior Center on the Venice boardwalk - where else would a geriatrician go?

New York City Urban Sketchers: Sketching Washington DC
http://nyc.urbansketchers.org/2015/08/sketching-washington-dc.html
Monday, August 3, 2015. This past weekend I was in Washington, DC for a wedding. My husband and I stopped for lunch to enjoy some of the blue claw crabs that the area is so famous for. The crabs were hot so I didn't mind waiting to chow down and sketch while they cooled. The wedding was at the St Regis where we stayed. I just had to sketch a part of the plush lobby. My last sketch was done by the statue at the entrance to the Viet Nam Memorial. World War II Memorial. August 13, 2015 at 11:06 PM. Please f...

Tuesday, September 30, 2014. Sketching the Gowanus Canal. September 27, 2014- NYC Urban Sketchers returned to the Gowanus Canal for a second time this year to join with the Gowanus Conservancy to celebrate 'Plein Air on the Canal,' an event to raise visibility for the organization working to improve the Brooklyn waterway. I am told the floats in the foreground were field tests of aquatic plants that could survive in the water of the Canal. This was a cement factory across the Canal from the Salt Lot.
