history
漆芸はウルシ科漆属の木から取れる樹液を用いて制作される藝術です。漆液の取れるウルシの木は東南アジアを中心に植生しています。主成分はウルシオール、ラッコール、チチオールに分類され、中国、韓国、日本は同じウルシオール系の木から採取しています。 日本では東北地方に多く植生し、光合成が盛んになる6月半ばから9月にかけて、木の幹に傷をつけて採取します。ウルシの木は約１５年間育て２００ｇ程の樹液しか採取できず、日本の場合は殺し掻き法が一般的なので、約15年育てた木は採取したその年に命を終わります。しかし、いつかは枯渇する地下埋蔵化石を成分にしている化学塗料と違って、ウルシの木から取れる樹液は15年で再生産できるのです。 漆は接着剤、塗料、絵の具、造形素材としての4つの役割を持っています。 このサイトに掲載されている全ての写真、グラフィックデータ、文章の著作権は東京藝術大学美術学部工芸科漆芸研究室に属します。 Department of URUSHI,Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music.
