In the 1950’s Mayor Egan of Aurora led a successful campaign to construct a bypass along Baseline Road. Later in the early 1970’s the state turned Business 30 over to the City of Aurora and Business 30 was no more. Bypass 30 was renamed to U.S. Route 30 as we know it today.
