In 1792, Captain George Vancouver, an English explorer who sailed Puget Sound, called our bay Useless because his keel hit bottom before his anchor could. In the early days, our back nine was part of the bay and smaller ships sailed right up to our 13th green. The surrounding land was mostly farmland. What's Happening This Month.
