Monday, 23 July 2012. Sunday was a BEAUTIFUL day, so i agreed to help two of my friends sort out their garden. Fence painting and weeding. Took us about 5 hours. Thursday, 2 May 2013. More casts, more cans. An update on cans, made some more moulds, but think i need to use a harder plaster. Might cast some already crushed cans too. see what happens. I like that these ones are 'open'. Felt a bit sorry for this one, so didn't crush him completely,. But smashing greenware for recycling is one of my favourite things to do in the studio, feel like the hulk or something. This is how i feel. haha. not really, i'm not an angry person. So i got the old Grandad Foakes rock tumbler out. Piece of history as F.Foakes himself got a. British Empire Medal for services to trade unions and service to geology. I'm experimenting with tumbling coloured glass. Glass can be difficult to mosaic with as it is so smooth, glue can't 'key' onto the surface.
