http://theselmeskis.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html
View my complete profile. Great things in store. It has been far to long since I have posted. For the most part, Maggie has been holding her own as we slowly decrease her Zonisamide and gradually increase the CBD. Thank goodness she has been stable, because there has been plenty of other things going on. Thank goodness for technology. Big girl bed now! The view from this apartment is awesome. You can look right out to the mountains and a trail is just down a little path from our apartment. Shawn ...She a...

View my complete profile. I suppose I am long overdue for an update. I used to be so good at posting, but haven't been nearly as good since we've been in Colorado. And this is where the exciting stuff takes place! By the way, we are seeing smiles nearly every day now. Not in direct response to anything we can tell, but she is at least happy in her body. Bun in the Oven. I think this was enough to update for now. I'm sure I missed some stuff, but I can always add more. 11 July, 2014 14:21. Looking forward...

View my complete profile. As a group of us step up our efforts in prompting legislative change in Iowa, I need your help. First of all, we need EVERYONE to contact your legislators and voice your support for the legalization of medical marijuana in Iowa. Here is a link to Find Your Legislator! A call would be great. A hand written letter would be great. If you need an idea for a form letter, email me and I'll send you one. The more personal you can make it, the better! Links to this post. Yes, you read t...

the SELMESKIS: Marijuana is a stepping stone....but what about the MIRACLES!?!?
http://theselmeskis.blogspot.com/2014/04/marijuana-is-stepping-stonebut-what.html
View my complete profile. Marijuana is a stepping stone.but what about the MIRACLES! The past month/month and a half, I have been dwelling on some things. As a family, I feel like we have replaced praying for the BIG miracles that God can and will do in our lives with a simple tool that He has provided us. We have put our hope and stock in marijuana at the cost of continuing to expect to see God do even bigger things in and through Maggie. However, marijuana is not Maggie’s miracle. God wants to do the i...

the SELMESKIS: Changing some things up
http://theselmeskis.blogspot.com/2014/04/changing-some-things-up.html
View my complete profile. Changing some things up. And beyond that, what do we change up? There have been a few option we had been pondering. Finally, I took some of the oils into our therapy and had them help me "test" them on her for dosages and what to do. The conclusion they came up with was right on par with what I was feeling we needed to do, so that was very affirming. They did help me figure out the specifics a little more though. Soour game plan over the next few weeks. Over the coming weeks!

View my complete profile. An Iowa Hawkeye shirt. After therapy yesterday, while at Trader Joe's for our weekly grocery shopping, we were delighted to see an Iowa Hawkeyes shirt across the way. As we ended up right behind the lady, I piped up with a "Go Hawkeyes! Are you from Iowa? Through conversation she asked about Maggie, who was snug in the Ergo carrier. I ended up sharing a good portion of our journey with her. Then, she asked if she could pray for us. Of course I said yes! Links to this post. I fin...

View my complete profile. Happy Birthday Sweet Magdalyn Joy! Crazy to think exactly a year ago at this time we were prepping for surgery and preparing to welcome a baby into the world. Some of you probably remember staying up late to find out if it was a boy or girl. With so much anticipation, we never could have expected the year we would have. 2,000 diaper changes. 65,000 minutes of nursing. 4 trips to an emergency room. 26 nights of hospital stays. 90 mLs of blood draws. 220 hours of therapy. Maggie s...

View my complete profile. The Family Hope Center. Sothis post has been a long time in the making. And, I just lost the last half of it. So, if it seems a little condense and there are errors it's because I just want to get it posted! Mystery Maggie managed to perplex a few of the clinicians throughout the day with all the inconsistencies. Silly little girl! OXYGEN-The primary goal is to get oxygen to her brain. We need to get her brain breathing! As you can see we will be BUSY BUSY BUSY! My natural insti...
