Salem to Sydney
http://sydney2salem.blogspot.com/2015/05/hummus-great-gateway-food-today-is.html
Wednesday, 13 May 2015. Hummus: 'the great gateway food'. Today is international hummus day! I will make some hummus to mark this important celebration. Hummus is easy to make, healthy, cheap, tasty and most importantly, it’s flexible! As I saw written today somewhere on the interwebs, hummus is the gateway food to your fridge. Mmmmm ‘what can I eat with this hummus today? 8217; is a regular question in our household. But wait! Without even realising it. Best to make it yourself. 1 cup of dried chickpeas.

Salem to Sydney: Leaving Iraq
http://sydney2salem.blogspot.com/2013/07/leaving-iraq.html
Tuesday, 30 July 2013. Not my image but gives you an idea of Sulayminyah. Image by P O from Panaramio.com. Amna Suraka Museum "Red Intelligence Museum". Former Ba'ath intelligence headquarters and prison where many innocent Kurds, including women and children were tortured and killed. Now a very eerie museum. Some very realistic models of torture methods. The capital, Erbil. Heavy My sensible self told me that I should have left him then and there, but my curiousity got the better of me. The river that f...

Salem to Sydney: October 2011
http://sydney2salem.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
Friday, 28 October 2011. Salem sweeps song contest! In other news, I've recently held my first aussie rules training with my older boys. After a bit of hesitation - "Miss Ella, can we just play normal. Football". I was pleasantly surprised by their kicking and handballing skills. Next training we're going to work on marking which will undoubtedly be a lot of fun. I don't want to jump the gun here, but I have a feeling that I may just produce the best AFL team Palestine has ever seen! Today I rode through...

Tuesday, 14 August 2012. A few days ago marked two months since I stepped off the plane in Istanbul. It's strange for me to think I've been here for that long. It still only feels like yesterday that I was taking in all the sights and sounds of crazy Istanbul. So where have I been and what have I been doing since then? Cenk L and Ersin R. Monday, 30 April 2012. 3rd Annual Palestinian Fun Run. Last weekend some friends and I decided to participate in the 3. My team - the Nabulsi Ninjas. Waiting to start the race. Running/walking through Birzeit village. We don't like hills. I estimated around 1000 people, maybe more, participating in the race plus many more volunteers and spectators. It was great to see people of all ages and backgrounds participating. I think the 2. Placed female was a young girl who looked about 7 years old. There we...

Wednesday, 9 February 2011. As an Arab in an Arab Country, I Demand Easy Access to Running Water in Toilets. This is why it really annoys me:. On a simple level, I do believe its much cleaner to use water and tissues. On a twisted more complicated political lever, I feel that the City of Life had become more suitable to the Western individual than it is to me - the Arabian. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Tuesday, 17 May 2011. The Provocative Element .Ooooh! I think 'Agent Provocateur' is one of the wittiest brand names ever. The British lingerie, fragrance, swimwear and sunglasses got its name from the French expression for 'hidden police agents'. It was founded by Joseph Corré, the son of Vivienne Westwood. And his now ex-wife Serena Rees in 1994. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Show me some love. Website of the week. The Provocative Element .Ooooh! Bidoon Sukkar بدون سكّر. Life is Still Good.

Tuesday, 29 March 2011. I have mixed feelings about this - Lipton Quiz Teabags. When I drink tea, I wanna set my mind free. Not think about which object has a million holes yet can hold water in. Yes! I know they usually have super easy questions and it's fun to check out what the teabag is about to ask you, and that's exactly why o have mixed feelings about them. Don't tell me it's free when it's not. Wednesday, 9 March 2011. Censoring AXE Angels in Arabia. Destroy that interesting idea, remove any elem...
