Sunday, April 19, 2009. Well, when it's most inconvenient, we finally got our big snow! We had a hairy trip back up to our house, and it snowed all night Friday and most of the day Saturday. It finally stopped around 6:00, and we had over 3 feet of snow! It's melting pretty quickly though. It's 47 today, and is supposed to be in low 60's this week. Now they're worried about flooding. Thursday, September 10, 2009. My gosh, it's hard to believe that I've been back from Illinois for almost 5 weeks now. The time just flies by! No cracks about age, please.) I had a great visit, but as usual a week wasn't nearly long enough. Our family reunion was lots of fun, but not enough time to visit with everyone. Tuesday, January 25, 2011. Nothing that exciting going on out west. No snow to speak of yet - flurries here and there, then gone the next day. Thursday is going to be near 50 up here, and 60 in the Springs. Then more normal temps for awhile, around 40. Ted and I actually went out this past Saturday night - woohoo! Saturday, October 24, 2009. Another exciting day in Manitou Springs - a parade and the Emma Crawford coffin races! Manitou is a bit freaky (remember the Mardi Gras Parade? But this was alot of fun. Very well organized and orderly. The parade had all of the hearses first, then all of the coffins and their teams, and they went down one side of the street, then up the other. Very creative people! He owned and developed Trout Haven Resort and the subdivision east and west of the Resort. The Baron developed the subdivisions letting owners become Trout Haven members. At one time in the 1960’s there were over 500 club members.
