What could be better than running a 212 mile relay? Running a relay on a gay men's relay team. I spent last weekend with 10 gay men and Anne. It was a hoot. Anne and I laughed our bottoms off all weekend. We also listened to rave music for four continuous hours. We learned all about gay sex. The men were self deprecating, compassionate, and considerate. I put my skis on and started to ski to sydney's. Then I hit dry pavement. I do not give up! Instead, I would ski the waterfront. Kara Goucher and Ryan Hall both came in third in the Boston. Kara was a split second behind the leaders. It is only her second marathon. She is an amazing athlete. Baby Lincoln Cole arrived on a drizzly Friday in February. The doctor gently lifted him out of his mothers tummy. He cried at first because his birthday came early. He thought he had two more weeks. I made a pilgrimage to the cross-country skiing promised land last week. It was God's country. The Methow Valley in northeastern Washington is the second largest trail system for cross-country skiers in North America. The city of Winthrop is the size of a small jellybean. The main street is made of wooden boardwalks. There is a pizza place, a bookstore, a coffee shop, and a saloon. One had to be quick because they were only open from the hours of 3-5. Sometimes the blessings of condo living can be be overwhelming. It makes me want to shout from the mountain top. "My cup runnth over! And "May this condo ever prosper! The 7th annual fire lookout trip to the Clear Lake lookout was complete success! Julie, Megan, and I (the original founding fire lookout trip members) packed our backpacks with vodka and sprite and sweated our way to the lookout. I had gotten up early that day to run the Race for the Roses half marathon, but I couldn't stop there. Must have more exercise. Must snowshoe with heavy backpack on. I couldn't rest. Must press onward. Or did you use the breast pump in lieu of said sled? Hood to coast can suck it.
