J's Journey: January 2009
http://jeremystoa.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html
Tuesday, January 13, 2009. Living in hell because Jesus asked him to. He's a pastor in Baghdad. Under Saddam he led a Christian church in his house and hoped to stay under the radar of the secret police. He didn't. They arrested him and with a death sentence on his life he was thrown into a 7x8 foot isolation cell with six or eight other tribal leaders from around Iraq with similar sentences. They were there for months. No windows. Not enough food. No toilet. No light. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

J's Journey: If God is so burning bush how can he be dancing like that?
http://jeremystoa.blogspot.com/2008/12/i-think-i-think-lot.html
Monday, December 8, 2008. If God is so burning bush how can he be dancing like that? I think I think a lot. But I digress. I was talking about worship. I think. Or quantum mechanics. I think a lot of people see God like this. Unapproachable. So not like us. So burning bush and fire and brimstone. I think a lot of people see God like this. Wholly approachable. Like us because Jesus lived on earth like us. So perfect yet so accepting and approachable for the rest of us who are completely not. But I doubt it.

J's Journey: September 2008
http://jeremystoa.blogspot.com/2008_09_01_archive.html
Wednesday, September 10, 2008. Who are you and what are you doing here? 8221; Stopping to collect his scattered wits the Rabbi didn’t respond. Again, the voice cried out “who are you and what are you doing? At this the Rabbi responded, “First tell me who you are and I will tell you who I am.”. So lost in thought, the Rabbi had walked up to a Roman garrison. 8220;I am a Roman Centurion, the guard of this Garrison. It’s my duty to keep track of who passes here.”. 8221; said the Rabbi. Out of the ashes.

The Student Wire: January 2009
http://studentwire.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html
Monday, January 26, 2009. James opens his letter talking about finding joy in our trials. One of the big thing that sticks out to me is that it does not say that "If trouble comes." but "When trouble comes.". I have seen that the "real world" is full of stress and trouble and people are pissed off about it. Bottom Line:There will always be troubles in our life, period. I don't deserve this! I say, "Who said life should be fair? How do we look at trials in our life? Or an opportunity to draw closer to God?
